Ohio Wesleyan students love to interact and be social with each other. There is constant intermingling between girls and guys that is only encouraged by the fact that there are no strict rules or visiting hours regulating the interaction. The male-to-female ratio constantly stays near the 50/50 mark, offering a good blend of guys and girls in every social situation. From the outside, one might be tempted to believe there is a big sex separation because of the all-male fraternities and the all-female hall, but the fact is that both of these areas are always mixed with a variety of people of both genders. This constant blend often results in casual hookups at parties, which is the predominant way the social scene works. Long-term relationships do occur, as well, but they are less common between the students.
Everyone seems to fit in with some group on campus. There are so many people from such diverse backgrounds that students will surely meet people they probably would have never gotten to know if it weren't for Ohio Wesleyan bringing them together. The best way to meet people is just by hanging out in the different residence halls, in classes, and in the Hamilton-Williams Campus Center. Most students leave their doors open and welcome people just popping in whenever they want, and this is a great way to meet new people. The friends you make while at Ohio Wesleyan could become some of the greatest friends in your life, and some have even met their future spouse while at OWU.
