Ohioans know how to eat well, and it shows, with very good restaurants scattered across the state and its cities. Delaware is no different and offers some good alternatives to eating on campus every day, and what you can't find in Delaware is only 30 minutes away in nearby Columbus. In walking distance, there is pretty much every type of fast food restaurant known to man, and many are open until 1 a.m. to satisfy students' hunger at any time. There are also the classic hometown restaurants that every OWU student needs to experience—notably Bun's and Hamburger Inn. These have all been around for many years in Delaware and exude the small-town atmosphere as soon as one walks in the door. The food is pretty good, although it can be pricey for the average college student.
A student favorite is Vaquero's, an authentic Mexican restaurant with live mariachi music and great margaritas. Some student organizations have even held events here. Numerous good dining options are available on the main street in Delaware, but once in a while, students really reward themselves with a trip to a more classy place in Columbus. Columbus has everything a food connoisseur could ask for, including a five-star restaurant and every type of cuisine imaginable.
