Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

An Ohio Wesleyan student truly appreciates the opportunities that are given to them at this small liberal arts school in Delaware. There is something special about OWU that the rankings seem to overlook, and only the students experiencing it know what that is. An OWU student is given the advantage of being personally taught by a group of one of the greatest faculty in America, a group that is not concerned with research, but with instilling knowledge in the best way possible. In addition, the endless leadership opportunities on campus give OWU students another chance for growth and development as a person that will help them in their future endeavors. The students appreciate an Ohio Wesleyan education because it focuses on every aspect of character and knowledge and not just what is taught in the classroom. OWU students do not just learn about facts and equations; they learn how to think, and that is what sets them apart.

Many students do question their decision to attend OWU in their first semester or first year there, and some will end up transferring before they immerse themselves in all the opportunities that are afforded to them by the University. The students that do attend for their full four years and are not afraid to take the risks and experience everything begin to realize that they are being given the chance to be given an education on par with any college student in the world. They realize that with the tools acquired at OWU, they can go out and truly be anything. It is at this realization that the student can say “I am OWU.”

Amazing Experience

I am confident in saying how satisfied I am with my overall experience at OWU. I not only have a solid group of friends here but I have an even greater amount of people to rely on here. In my freshman year I decided to go Greek and it was the best choice. I am now very engaged on campus and very motivated to do my best. I don't think I've had one professor that does not want to help me succeed. All of the people I know at OWU are unique in background, interest and personality and I think that is the most notable characteristic of OWU.

Depends on How You Look at It

A lot of students dislike owu because of the administration, which is sometimes warranted. However, the school is much more then bad reslife policies etc. The students and especially the professors make the school. Something almost any student here can agree on is how wonderful our professors are, they genuinely care about their students and are extremely helpful both in and outside of class (especially those that live in delaware).

I wouldn’t trade this experience...

I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world. Hopefully, my brother’s going to follow in my footsteps and come here, too. I enjoy my winter and summer vacations a lot, but every time I come back to Delaware, I don’t feel like leaving school—ever!
