The weather at OWU is about as predictable as the stock market. Delaware, Ohio, has all four distinct seasons with a common theme throughout the year: extremes! The summers are extremely hot and humid, and can be torture if you live in one of the dorms that lacks air conditioning. The fall is extremely unpredictable where hurricane-strength winds, 70-degree days, and inches of snow can all happen within a week's span. Winter is ideal for the students coming to OWU from their hometown in Anchorage, Alaska. What every student soon learns about OWU is that, unlike high school, snow days are pretty much a thing of the past. Not all hope is lost of waking up to class being canceled for a snow day, though, as often professors will individually cancel their class, as many of them live farther away and cannot make it to Delaware.
Pack every type of clothing that you have in your closet, especially the ones that you think you will not need. Only the Smith residence halls offer air conditioning, so if you live anywhere else, bringing a fan is very important. Also, if you plan on staying for summer school, either rent a house with air conditioning or be prepared for a hot and humid summer session. The only thing certain about your experiences with the weather at Ohio Wesleyan is that it will never bore you.
