Theres not a whole lot to do party-wise if you arent 21 or in greek life.

Many sorority girls do cocaine to stay skinny. I know many many people who smoke weed. and almost everyone drinks on campus. I'm not into any of that but I have heard stories and assume they are true based on what ive witnessed myself

I dont live on campus so I dont have a whole lot to say about the campus police besides the fact they are strict about parking and I know they are fairly strict on underage drinking.

Varsity sports at OSU are great this year. Intramurals are also a really big part of being involved at OSU. The Colvin Center is ranked one of the best athletic facilities in the whole country.

Health & Safety:
Safety isn't that great of a concern to me because I do not live on campus. However, I have received alerts on my phone about crimes that have been committed on campus such as rape and robbery so it is concerning in that manner. I usually have to walk alone on nights when I have lab but don't feel too unsafe because there are many other students roaming around as well. I just keep my guard up and eyes open.

I never eat on campus. It is rather expensive and if you have a bursar hold you can't use your ID to buy anything anyways. It's usually crowded and involves waiting in long, grueling lines which I'd rather not have to be involved in or a part of. If you have alot of money and time on your hands it would be a great route. But some people do not have either.
College Freshman 2013-12-02T18:32:43Z
I have trouble most days finding a good parking spot and I paid quite a bit for my parking permit. The campus police are pretty harsh and strict and I have never been shown any leniency. I think for them to be so strict is ridiculous when there aren't enough parking spaces at all for the amount of student that attend school here. I feel there are way to many faculty parking lots and wastes spaces than there are parking lots for students. It's an issue that should definitely be addressed.

The pride that is held in the students and faculty at OSU is tremendous. They are firm believers and tradition and they are very loyal. I am an OU fan so it is hard for me to get that feeling for myself but so far I have had a blast attending college here at OSU.

The library has a very large lab with normal sized monitors to rather large monitors for people who have group projects. Other computer labs have a great deal of computers as well but not the option of large screens. Some labs on campus have macs as well.

Guys & Girls:
There are A LOT of sorority girls and frat guys. They rule the campus. They all dress the same and you can spot them from a mile away! Most of them are really friendly and have many friends who are involved in greek life here at OSU. However, it is a bit overwhelming in my opinion.

Stillwater is a big town with a small town feel. Pretty "country-fied". There is a local dance hall, college athletic events, concerts, and Oklahoma city is only an hour away with even more attractions and sights to see.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T23:07:44Z
There are many, many places to live that aren't too expensive.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T23:07:04Z
Everything is great. The buildings are close to each other, and there is so much space for lounging (this is the BEST when the weather begins to warm up.) Walking around campus is fun all by itself.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T23:07:04Z
Our Engineering, Architectural, and Agriculture programs are the best. Many people comment that students swarm in just to join these programs. OSU is undoubtedly one of the top schools in our nation.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T23:04:51Z
I've never, ever used any transportation outside of my own car. I know that the buses are practical and convenient, but having a car would be the best option here.

Guys & Girls:
My own experience with a relationship at OSU is great. I ran into the love of my life without even trying. However, half of the girls are Greek and not looking for something serious, and the other half is already in a relationship. Many people dress the same, and it isn't easy to find someone who is very unique. Building and maintaining a social life is simple.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T23:00:58Z
I'm not a Greek, so I don't anything about being a Greek. I know that half of them all dress the same, and lots of them look down on people who aren't Greek.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T23:00:00Z
I love it here. I've built my life around this school and I couldn't imagine going anywhere else.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:59:33Z
Student involvement, fan support, and school spirit are undeniably the best here. Leaving Stillwater on game day is difficult (because of the crowd that swarms into the town), and for the few days leading up to a big game, everywhere you go you'll see support, rallies, and promotions. It's almost impossible to ignore OSU sports, because no matter where you go, there will be fans. Even though I don't have a particular taste for sports, I love the school spirit and am always inspired by how passionate our students and their families are about our school.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:56:54Z
There are so many labs that I haven't even been to them all. The computers on campus are quick, and the library hands out laptops to any student who needs one. Sometimes, the wireless network isn't too great, ESPECIALLY in the dorms, but if you're sitting in the Student Union then you'll definitely have a great connection.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:54:58Z
I don't know much about the party scene, but if someone were to drive around long enough, he or she would surely see some parties happening. I'm aware of some strip clubs and a hookah lounge in our area, along with a few bars. There are taxis to take people home, but I would recommend designated drivers.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:50:52Z
There are so many places to go that I haven't even come close to eating at half of them. There aren't any student discounts for dining, but the choices aren't expensive and they are so convenient simply because of the distance. Wherever you live in the town (on campus, off campus) there is somewhere that is walking distance. Stillwater has many chain restaurants, but a lot of the others are small businesses that have quality food and really nice owners.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:44:13Z
If a student wants to avoid the party scene, he or she will have a very easy time. Parties are often exclusive, and while outsides can usually join, if someone doesn't want to take part in that then there is certainly no pressure to. A student could go through school relatively unaware that many of the people around them go to late night parties and drink. That's one of the better things about this school - do it if you want, but nobody is going to force you to.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:41:31Z
I've never had to apply for financial aid (although I may have to in the future.) When I received a scholarship from Oklahoma State, the process was so quick and easy that I didn't even realize I had the scholarship until I checked my account.
College Freshman 2013-11-23T22:40:07Z
Stillwater is no big city, that's for sure. There's no huge shopping centers, but it makes for the perfect college town. There are plenty of dining and living options, both of and off campus. Because everyone in Stillwater is so passionate about our school, I always feel welcome here, especially since most of the town is composed of college kids. I've never felt unsafe while walking around at night. And while there aren't many places to go, Stillwater is definitely a "make your own fun" sort of area.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
