College Prowler Take
The food at ODU is all managed by Aramark catering company, and though it may be psychosomatic, it feels like you can taste that even in the franchise chains. Even the nuggets at Chick-fil-A will leave you smacking your lips, like “I taste…cafeteria….” Still, ODU makes a recognizable attempt to provide students with diverse and healthy choices, as well as a few popular fast food chains. In the cafeterias, there are several themed stations. You have your high school cafeteria throwbacks, like the sandwich and pizza stands, as well as a main dish area and a salad bar. In at least one of the cafeterias, Café 1201, there is also a Veggie Bar, which provides students with a meat-free meal option. Still, most students will tell you that the cafeteria food is pretty bad, and after eating it every day, you will probably grow to hate it. But it is a convenient way to get a balanced, hot meal without any of the work of cooking or cleaning up yourself. And, for an average of about $7 or $8 a plate, you get a lot more than what you would get at a fast food or takeout restaurant.

The food in the dining halls can be good and bad. I would suggest finding something that you like that they offer every day to replace meals on the days when the entrees aren't up to par. Overall, the food isn't amazing, but it isn't bad either. Some of the food can be great, and then other food be horrible.

The food is relatively good but not great. The new dining hall rules are not conducive to a good eating environment. I say that because some students become tempered because when you buy your meal plan, they say it's all-you-can-eat, but when you get to the cafés, they put a limit on almost everything.

I hear the new House of Blue is really good. The Grille Works on campus serves the best burger around! However, the main chains like Taco Bell and Pizza Hut could use some work when it comes to cooking their food properly. How many times am I going to get undercooked flexible breadsticks and cold cheese in my quesadilla!? How many times?! |

The food on campus isn’t fabulous, but the Webb Center is pretty good. We have a restaurant at night called the House of Blue. The food in the dining hall is edible. But who would trust it? |

The food here is junk. ODU is ranked the sixth unhealthiest campus, I believe. Students here are fat. We have Taco Bell and Chick-fil-A. That’s about it. |
