There is a lot of rentals in this town. Fairly agreeable prices and generally safe neighborhoods.

There are a ton of rentals available near and around school. They are very well priced, if you have two roommates you can pitch in $300 to $400 a month each and be good. On campus you don't have your own space, own bathroom, kitchen or right to cook food for yourself (at least for the first year you have to get a meal plan with no refund for unused money). You can be as thrifty as you want. Good to live on campus to get used to it, but I'm moving off next year.

So long as you live close to school, It should work out. The winters in Klamath Falls are usually brutal, so you want to make sure you have a reliable form of transportation. Other than that, you have a lot of freedom living off campus.

Living off campus is much cheaper than their apartment style dorm living. There are several apartment buildings throughout town at varying prices and locations. I personally enjoy being able to leave campus and not feel like I am living at school. Safety, price, and convenience all vary with location. If you look you can find something that fits you but it wouldn't fall into your lap. The school does not assist with finding off campus housing. But because it is a poor community and a large majority of people that come through are student who want to rent there are many options.

Look for Rental Homes With Geothermal – Off campus housing is very affordable in Klamath Falls. I would recommend getting together with friends and renting a geothermally heated home. Monthly heating bill < $20 in the winter.
Rental homes are typically much nicer than apartments in Klamath Falls.
