I have not had any troubles with anything academically with Otero. Everyone is flexible and understanding, but they do expect me to keep up with my work that I miss.

I have not really went to the career center, but I know that anyone there would be willing to help me if I asked.

The student body at Otero is something else I have never really been around because Otero is basically all about sports, so they students for cliques according to the sports they play. Which I do not really like.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I think the education I have received is worth the tuition I have paid because it is not too highly priced and I am still learning all the things I am needing to learn.

I have had no online classes.
College Sophomore 2013-11-04T02:34:20Z
The computers are always open to the students on campus. The network reliability and speed is good except when it is wireless because there is bad connection and it takes forever to load on the internet. The printer usage at Otero is good and is set at a reasonable price.

On campus they have a new weight room open to everyone. The student center is nice they have lots of fun things to do like, pool, watch tv, and ping pong. The library is nice, there is a starbucks and it is a great place to get resources and to study.

I am just a freshman so I have not been able to get too far into my specific major at this time. I am just working on getting my general classes out of the way.

The professors at Otero Junior College are great teachers, they really care about each student in the class room. The class registration process is smooth, I had no problems and it was fast and easy. The study options here are great, they really help get those grades that I want, they make me work hard, but I do understand better.

I really liked working with the basketball team, I learned a lot even though I did not make the team. I really like my work study job, we do a lot but it is still fun. I like all the teachers because they teach well and I like the tutor helpers because they help out a lot. If I could do this all over again, I would probably choose another school were I was closer to more family and friends I knew.

All the faculty is willing to help individuals, there are people who are willing to help tutor students, the food is good, and the town is small so everyone pretty much know everyone. There are a lot of Opportunities at Otero Junior College to help students reach their education goals.

I have taken several online courses through Otero Junior College, and I have really enjoyed all of them. The professors were very kind and fair with deadlines and were always available to talk to if I had any questions. The classes were rigorous and I learned quite a bit.

The facilities on campus are nice and clean. The new gym is very nice and the new Starbucks is awesome. Being an online student, have not been in the dorms but I hear that they are very comfortable. Whenever I have been in the student center there have always been people there to cater to whatever I may need.

They teach what the courses are about. I am in nursing and just passed the state boards for LPN program with the minimum amount of questions necessary for the test. This shows that they have taught us what is needed in the degree program we are doing.

There is a wonderful athletic program with workout facilities. They also incorporate the community into their performances for theatre. It is a nice and comfortable campus to be on.
College Senior 2013-09-15T15:35:41Z
They have lots of programs that help students succeed. Tutoring, retention specialists, etc..
College Senior 2013-09-15T15:31:20Z
Always up and working or they have sent out maintenance messages about the system. WiFi has easy access.

I enjoy the diversity of the students. I have met students from Africa, Germany, India and many more. Its great getting an education academically and interacting with so many diverse cultures, it really ads to my educational experience.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Everyone is knowledgeable and willing to help with filling out forms and answering any questions someone would have. They also have people specifically there to help in filling out the FASFA forms.

The online courses I have taken have been great classes. They are teacher-guided courses, so you do have turn-in dates and times. You still have access to teachers and tutors. They work great for those who have a hard time in a class environment and with those who have disabilities. It does have one drawback as online classes are not for those who are not self-motivated.
College Junior 2013-08-15T17:38:52Z
The gym is open to all students to use. The library and Student Success Center was just updated in 2013. We also have a STEM center on campus too. They also offer work studies for students.
College Junior 2013-08-15T17:29:55Z
The school and the teachers have worked around my disability better then I could have ever hoped. All they ask is to be notified if I'm going to miss class for my doctors appointments and I try to do my best to schedule appointments when I don't have classes. The school has tried to point out programs to help me graduate; like Collegeprowler's website to help me get scholarships to pay for college.
College Junior 2013-08-15T17:20:26Z
The school has lots of computers for use on school property. We have other programs like Trio, and the Success Center that help with labtops, recorders, and sum times books for classes that can be checked out at no cost to the student. But these are limited. If you plan on taking online courses I would recommend having your own computer. This will save you time and gas on having to go to the school. But even with the online courses you still have the ability to talk to the teachers or get tutoring from the school. For printing you start each semester off with a $25 account and if you go through that you can buy more printing.

Otero Junior College just started the Agriculture programs at the end of 2012 and are trying to expand the programs. These programs have been needed in the area for a long time. The teachers have been very helpful and the tutors are free to all students. The school and all the teachers have worked with me around my disability. I would recommend Otero Junior College to anyone starting college. It is a small school environment and a little bit cheaper then most four year colleges. The school has a bridge program setup so your credits transfer seamlessly to certain four year colleges.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
