Parking at Ouachita Baptist University

Parking Is Very Structured Here on Campus

The campus is very unleveled. Lots of hills and awkward height changes occur so the buildings have to be built on top of that. The parking is very obvious for students on where they can and cannot park. Every time you enter a parking lot, there is a sign telling you who can specifically park in this lot or spot. For instance, you enter a parking lot that says "Faculty/Staff/Visitors Only" or "For Francis Crawford Residents Only." Sometimes it is very hard to find a good parking spot. Nobody wants to park at the bottom of the hill and have to walk up and down because it is so steep and further away than the upper lots. People are very conscious and take their time to make sure the best parking spots are available so they will not have to commute to the bottom of the hill to get to their car. If someone is found parked in an area they are not allowed, parked longer than 15 minutes in the "15 minute parking" at the front door of the dorms, or parked on the curb of an academic building, they will get a ticket and have to go to traffic court to either convince the officer to not make them pay if it was not their fault or just pay the ticket and be done with it.

Ouachita Baptist University Has a Wide Variety of Options for Students.

Ouachita Baptist University has a wide variety of options for students. If someone is allergic to a certain food, they can contact the nutritionist and she will have whatever you need to eat ready for you personally to pick up in the cafeteria. The cafeteria offers breakfast, lunch, and dinner with lots of different choices. There is always the sandwich bar, cereal, pizza, and hamburgers. There is something new for the main course and International Bar every day. And also, for brunch on Sundays, there is an omelet bar. Besides the cafeteria, students can also have Starbucks on campus. Most of the drinks that are available in the regular Starbucks' on the street are available for students to enjoy with a nice lounge. In the student center, there is the Tiger Grill, serving pizza, hamburgers, breadsticks, etc. Right next to it is my personal favorite, Chik-Fil-A. Having the traditional chicken sandwich, the chargrilled, nuggets, and strips, Chik-Fil-A is always full and busy. There are also options for wraps, salads, and fruit cups in the Chik-Fil-A line. Student ID cards have $400 on them automatically at the beginning of every semester for them to spend on Chik-Fil-A, Starbucks, and the Tiger Grill.

Ouachita Baptist University Has Been Drug-Free Since the Beginning

As far as I know, there have been no incidents pertaining to drugs on campus. Ouachita has a very strict policy against drugs on campus and have kept this promise in stone since the first days of the school. I am so glad that I do not have to worry about stumbling upon drugs while walking across campus.
