San Antonio is a fun place for students. It is a major city known for landmarks such as The Alamo, River Walk, and the Tower of the Americas, and there is plenty to do to keep students entertained. There are various shopping centers, including North Star Mall, Quarry Market, and Rivercenter Mall, which are popular places for students to go. There is also a Six Flags amusement park, SeaWorld, and other tourist attractions. If you’re into sports, you can go to a San Antonio Spurs game. Downtown is a popular destination for Our Lady of the Lake University students, and they can watch a movie at the IMAX or other theaters, dine at a unique local restaurant, go to any of the clubs or bars around, or take a peaceful walk in the San Antonio Botanical Garden. San Antonio is also a major military city, so there are bases open to the public. There are also events and festivals that are celebrated in San Antonio, including the Texas Folklife Festival in June and Fiesta in April.
San Antonio is home to a number of other universities, such as a campus of the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), Incarnate Word, Trinity, and St. Mary's. Incarnate Word and St. Mary's are particularly friendly places. One thing to be aware of is that Our Lady of the Lake University is located in an area with a high crime rate, so it is advised that you never leave campus alone and in the dark.
