The cohort program does not have transportation and for some one like me who cant drive its hard. I would not be able to do the bay area cohort if wasn't at mission college. There's only regular vta buss.

I want work as a special education teacher but I need get my BA before the teaching program. I contacted the school I want go for the teaching program they said it will be fine the degree from pacific oaks .

Pacific oaks college is aswome and the cohort program Im in is amazing. You finish in year and a half. You can work and go to school. The instructor are friendly and you have the same group people you have class with the whole school year. I kind feel even though its quick paced its still changes you not only with higher education but takes you on emotional journey.

Papers got shuffled around. And because I'm in a cohort which only allows you two classes at time I'm considered full time in cohort. But not to financial aid and theirs no acceptation. I got a good amount.

It is great because you are part of a cohort You never feel like you are all alone.

College Senior 2013-10-20T21:32:20Z

I have had to do very little myself for the registration process which is unnerving at the same time it is liberating. The application and enrollment process is good. But could be faster.
College Senior 2013-10-08T23:03:44Z
I came here because of their progressive way of looking at early childhood education. I have enjoyed my classes so far. The professors have been helpful and willing to work with the students. The registration process was smooth and I was assigned a student advisor that s very helpful.

The program I am a part of is somewhat diverse. There is one group that is the majority and a few of us make up the rest. This apply to my off campus experience, not on campus. When visiting the school there seemed to be a greater amount of diversity.

I am completely happy with the program at pacific oaks.

The program has been difficult to get onto because you have to discuss your personal experience

Pasadena is a lovely city. Lots of activities for families with children. Night life is okay but not like it use to be.
College Senior 2013-06-23T05:20:17Z
There is no Nightlife other than classes taken at night. No hanging out at this school.
College Senior 2013-06-23T05:18:01Z
There are great restaurants near the campus, but they don't honor student discounts.

Pacific Oaks is a commuter school mainly located in 2 buildings if you take on ground classes. I have never seen drugs and have not met people who talk about drugs or doing them. I'm sure one could get creative if using drugs is a priority but it will be hard to go undetected unless one is using something without a smell or strange side effects. I feel safe on campus. I am not sure what the surrounding area is like about drug use though.

The immediate area where the campus is not the best part of the city. Just walk, drive or take the bus about 2 blocks south and BAM! Plenty of places to walk around in Old Town Pasadena with good eats and shopping everywhere. There are bars to go to, dancing to be done, bookstores, movie theaters, art supply stores and more. Pasadena is a pretty diverse place and a great place to live and play as a student or young professional.

Public transportation in Pasadena, especially this part of Pasadena is pretty regular and accessible. Driving is easy and there is a parking lot as well as street parking in the area. Parking is free which is great but if you're going on a busy day, you might have to park on the street at your own risk. I took the bus on Fair Oaks multiple times for work and it was simple enough.

As I stated in the previous question, Pacific Oaks is a beautiful campus. The campus itself is set up for a positive learning experience. Since the school caters to working professionals, there are plenty of services provided on the weekends. There is a great student lounge with community coffee, clean couches, microwaves and a refrigerator. Students are encourage to "fill their tank" in a nurturing manner.

The facilities are really beautiful. There is a lot of greenery and cute patio furniture outside. There is also a cute place for smokers.
The school itself is based on the Quaker Philosphy of experiental learning. This philosophy and the use of it at Pacific Oaks is quite effective.
College Sophomore 2013-05-13T03:36:11Z
Pacific Oaks is not at all a party school. It is a school for working professionals. The atmosphere of the school and classes is very fun and inviting.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
