I feel some students are very unmotivated and are there as a last option or because they were forced. A lot of them thought it would be an easy career when its not. Other then that there are lots of talented upcoming hairstylist.

We do not have any of these resources because we are a beauty school.

our school has the most passing rates for state board. they focus a lot on it and prepare us until we are 100 percent ready for our test. they are open minded in us learning other techniques because other schools only want you to do things their way. they are very understanding and work with each and every one of us. also prepare us with the basics and make sure we are salon ready or ready for an internship.

it has worked very well for me because I am there Mon-Wed and I am able to work weekends.Classes are very small so it is easier for us to communicate with the teacher. Also everything we do is hands on so we work one on one with the teacher and all questions or doubts are answered. Overall their curriculum is very well organized and very convenient for all students even though we all learn differently.

At my school they do a really good job preparing us for our state board and with all of the basic things about Cosmetology and Barbering that will help us once we start our career. We don't learn much of how it will be in the real world because they feel that it will be too much stress because there are lots and lots of ways to do what we do. The instructors are great but some of them are hired right out of beauty school. That is one of the things I have found most challenging. I like learning from my experienced teachers which have been doing hair for 30 or more years. Other then that it is a great school. Staff are always helpful and make it seem like a family type environment.

My school doesn't really have a career center. While we are in School they have a career fair and have Salons and Barbershop employees come and look at some of our work. From there its up to us to communicate with them about any opportunities at their Salons/Barbershops. That is about all they do for us.

It's a beauty school so we don't have a library or other resource centers.

I don't think all the instructors are knowledgeable on what they should know.

Working Together – The student body at my school is very diverse. I'm the youngest student at 17 years old and a lot of times I'll be working along side someone in their 40's. We all have different experiences and views on life. Everyone works together to create a happy environment but it's not all about socializing with friends. Most people have never met anyone else at the school when they start, but they can be best friends when they graduate because of all the time and team work that happens

Pushing Through It – I like my school because of the variety it teaches in my field. The teachers go to classes all the time for furthered education and then bring them to the students so we'll all be on the top of the game when we graduate. Unlike a typical school, we attend three days a week all day, this can be nice because you can also hold a job while going to school, but unfortunately it's hard to to go school ten hours a day three days in a row.

Going for Your Dreams – Most students find a job right after graduation or already have a job lined up before they graduate. For the most part students get the job that they want whether it be at a higher end salon or a lower end salon.

Unique Academic Variety – My school is the only cosmetology school in Washington that teaches hair extensions and relaxers along with all of the state's requirements. The teachers are always bringing new techniques to the table and are very innovated. Our owner, whom is a decorated hair stylist, is there a lot and actually helps hands on with our education.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
When You Have a Question, Ask. At Paroba College of Cosmetology the financial aid adviser is very helpful and extremely well educated. She was able to answer all of my questions and explain to me what I needed to do and how to do it, because of her knowledge and willingness to help, the process went very smoothly. Unfortunately since I wasn't sure that I could receive a scholarship at a trade school and I didn't ask, I didn't start applying for them sooner.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
