Tuition & Financial Aid:
The financial aid office is very helpful and informative on all available options you have to help fund your schooling.

My school has very few activities and we do not interact with other courses in the school. We did have a summer day, where students from the massage therapy department preformed free massages and had a little psychical from the medical students. I feel like my school needs more functions that makes the students want to put in the extra effort to show off their work. Cosmetology students do have small salon visits. I believe more should be offered to make students interested and excited to start their career. We need to be learning the most we can about our field before we graduate.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
My parents dealt with the financial aid but from how they responded, it seemed easy.

My school has a few computer labs and are available most of the time. Sometimes, classes are being held and you cannot access them, though. The school is very small and has limited space. We don't get to work on the computer often, which is a shame because some people do not have internet or printers at home. These days, it's important to be familiar which technology. A teacher was pushing for students to received iPads, which would be wonderful for students to help study. Quizlet was a huge help in high to me and I believe if more students were aware of it, it could benefit them as well.

My school does not offer online classes for my program.

My school is section of an old Walmart. We do not have very good ventilation in some rooms and is very hard to breathe for someone like myself who is an asthmatic. The place is only cleaned every 12 weeks it seems and I took responsibility to clean a room I was in never in my first quarter alone. The bathrooms are not refreshed through out the day and smells awful. Every day, I leave the school for lunch because I refuse to buy at the school. I found other foods in my french fries and by the time we are dismissed for lunch, food is already cold and they start packing up half way through our 30 minutes. We have just received new teaching staff, which is a huge plus. Students are learning more and have more hands on activities. The office staff is wonderful, which bumps my grade up for my school. I was pushed to come in and look around. Emily, who helped me enroll, was the most helpful woman to me. She really was on the ball. There are many staff members to talk to when you are having a problem and help fix it. Besides the people working for the school, it is not something I would recommend for many.

Our student center is also our lunch room, with everyone in the room at once it is easy to study in groups or catch a teacher walking by for extra help. The library is always open and ready to use and the teachers will step out of their way to make what you need possible.

The computer labs are always being used by other students that are trying to do research or even just looking at their emails. The teachers could be teaching a class and they will let you come in and do what ever you need to get done. It is also open later, so if we have something we need to do we can always come back later before they close the school. It's great we have so many people willing to help us with our work.

Students are typically very hard working, friendly, and thrive for success. Students will go out of their way to help each other, so nobody falls behind. I couldn't think of a better place to attend school.

Teachers always take the time to help. We do not have school on Fridays, but there are teachers in the building to help when you fall behind. As long as you are willing to take the initiative, they are willing to help. I can go to several of my teachers and ask questions about anything and they will help me find the answers.

I am a first year student in my first semester of school. I have been out of school for about 13 years. I was very hesitant about coming back to school. I have been at home raising a family, and working my life away to make ends meet. I didn't know that coming back to school would be this easy or I would have done it years ago.
I feel the classes and curriculum is intended for people like me. The material we study in class never seems meaningless and almost always seems to apply to every day life. They are teaching us how to juggle school, work, and a family in the best possible manner. I feel comfortable and confident every day.
I was hesitant about majoring in business, but the classes are exactly as they should be. I don't ever ask myself "Why do I have to do this?" I thoroughly enjoy every class and every teacher I have encountered.

The student body at Penn Commercial tends to be on either side of two extremes; either rambunctious, loud, and offensive, or quiet and passive. Interacting with students outside of our classroom is difficult, and not entirely a desirable experience. Many of the students, especially in Cosmetology, can be heard from several doors down.

The professor for my course, drafting, does a decent job at it, but he could definitely improve. After several terms, we've learned that he doesn't know the AutoCAD program like he should, sometimes leaving us to figure out issues we have on our own. He also tends to tell stories about his past and personal life, and won't stop for anything, even if someone needs help with a problem.
He is a great guy, but he needs to focus more on the class and what he's teaching.

Penn Commercial is an affordable alternative to a standard 4 year school, being able to give you a degree in less than two years and get you out into the workforce with minimal debt and maximum experience.
The professors are generally good natured and easy going, but the students, especially in the largely female classes, tend to be loud, obnoxious, and somewhat offensive, and everyone else tends to be introverted.
The education here is very good for what you pay, and I would recommend this school to anyone in the Washington area who wants a cheap, good education meant to get you out in the workplace as soon as possible.

They are a lot more advanced then other schools. When it comes to a problem they are willing to set up and help with anything.

The teachers are every involved in the students. They will spend one on one time with students to make sure they understand what they are studying. I have gone to a teacher an asked questions and she has always took the time to talk to me and show me what we were learning. I have also missed a day and they take time at the beginning of class to let me know what I have miss the day before. They are very caring people not only for school but they are there for anything you need help with.

I am studying cosmetology, I could not be more happier. I love to do everything I am learning but even better. If I had to choose to do it all over again I would not change one thing.

Most everyone has a family in our class. We all help each other study and teach each other new things. All of us are trying to better ourselves to take care of our children. Between work and school we come to school everyday.

penn commercial is a great school. the classes are small in size, the staff and teachers are very helpful and want nothing more than to see you succeed and reach your goals. they work with you every step of the way from financial aid, picking your classes and making sure they work with your schedule to placing you to a job once your education is complete to even child care while you're there. attending penn commercial has taken a lot of the stress away that you would normally run into during college life!

we have a library and a student center available to us, but i feel they could use some type of assembly space for all the speakers they have come in instead of being crammed into the student center which is also our cafeteria. i dont believe there are any athletic programs but i guess thats typical for technical schools.
College Senior 2013-01-15T20:26:58Z
there are plenty of computers available to the student body between all the labs and the library. the internet speed is reliable and im assuming the wireless access is good, cause i have seen other students using their personal laptops during classes.

My advisers have been very helpful to me. They have done their best to help me with the transition from being a Massage Therapy student to a Medical Office student. My financial aid officer has explained every action that he has done on my behave. I will never be able to thank him enough for making this all possible for me.

My school is located in the heart of Washington, PA; a low income town. A majority of the students have an attitude, but the staff is always upbeat.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
