I am now going through a review process where they want to verify all my information but I have to wait until all the paper work gets sent to my house and then for my parents to go to my house and get the information and send it to me. It has become a hassle and it really is not that much aid.

I am somewhat frustrated with the financial aid process. After
completing my FAFSA, I am not eligible
for very much aid at this point since I am applying so late. I am really worried about securing the funds to be able to attend this Fall.

I was able to get enough financial aid to help my parents and I pay for school.

Financial aid process for Penn State Altoona is very hard. It's confusing and it's difficult to keep up with all the work needed to get financial aid. I received a fair amount, but not nearly as much as I thought I would. I would recommend going to the office of student aid and talking to the workers there frequently so you can keep updated on your aid amount. Also, it's best to ask often how you can apply for more aid and have them personally help you out.

A Little Shaky, but OK – As a first generation college student, I had very little guidance when it came to financial aid. The people in the financial aid office are helpful and knowledgeable, but I feel as though Penn State should be more focused on getting aid for students with less need for loans.
