My major is Bioengineering which is not currently offered at a branch campus, however, I attend this campus, because it is close to home and credits are easily transferred for classes I need to pursue my major. This major is rapidly growing and is furthering the health care field. The development of new medicines, devices, instrumentation, and methods is what enables us to further our health in our society, while also maintaining its health. The major is heavily loaded with classes in the Bioengineering field once I transfer to the main university. My workload is quite intense now as well, with research I partake in on the side in a Chemistry lab along with, the main weights of my classes focused primarily in Physics, Math, and Engineering classes.

There is a wide variety of students at PSUD. There are many adult learners along with many high school seniors who come to get a head start on college and many in between. We have all races and ethnicity. Although there are vast differences, everyone is so helpful towards each other and so friendly.

I love the online courses i have taken, minus one. But i just believe that it was the professor and not the course itself. Most professors, especially one, are extreamly helpful and they way he was his online class set, has given me the ability to know how to teach myself information easily.

There is nothing too unique about my individual campus, its all just a part of the Penn states 2 plus 2 program giving students opportunities in towns closer to their homes.

The population is not diverse, ethnically or religious or sexual.

Everything as well is easy accessible. Its a small campus, but there are many different opportunities.

Everything is easily accessible! At Penn state Dubois we have proficient computer labs in every single building!
College Junior 2012-08-28T13:28:04Z
I feel that there are a good number of computers available for students to use. They have many computer labs and other computers randomly spread out the campus. I have not had to go to the tech guys for anything, but from what I have heard they are very helpful.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I feel that Penn State is a little overpriced. The DuBois campus is very small which makes it feel safer and you have a chance to get to know everyone. I feel for the amount of money we pay for DuBois is worth it because the student to teacher ratio is very nice. You really get a chance to know the teacher and them to know you which makes learning a whole lot easier.

Sometimes the printers get weird and don't print but majority of the time, everything works pretty well. There are a lot of computers available.

I haven't taken many online courses but the ones that I have taken have been pretty good. The grading is fair and the work is reasonable.

Wildlife Technology – I love my major. We do so many hands-on activities that actually get us out in the field. We have 4 hour labs, normally outside. All of the things we learn are things we may need to know in the future, and information we can pass on to other people even outside of our major. The facaulty is astounding. They seem to be in their offices most of the time during a regular school day. They are very helpful and have available office hours. There are many job and internship opportunities with my major as well and our some of our facaulty make them known to us

Great School – The students and teachers are very easy to talk too. Small class sizes, and a small campus. I have learned so much at Penn State DuBois through my major.

My overall experience at Penn State has been excellent. The small size of the class rooms makes one on one attention from professors possible, and is very helpful. Although Penn State may not be the most technologically advanced school there is, i'm happy with my school experience so far.

Student Diversity – Student diversity is just about perfect. Different ethnics, cultures, sex and socioeconomic status are all prevelent. Mainly people who come here are from the area but there are others like me who have a home pretty far away. The age range is the biggest difference I noticed. There are students anywhere from freshman at 18 to those who are going back and are in their 50's, 60's and even older!

Computer Network – Anything you need to do online can be done right on campus. There are plenty of computer labs with reliable internet and plenty of paper to get you what you need done. We are not limited by how much we can print which is super awesome since I came from Gannon University and you only got so many sheets per semester on campus to print. A need for a personal computer may be helpful to keep in contact with emails and generals but it is not a necessity.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Determination Is Needed – Tuition is always expensive and because it is cheaper at penn state then some places I received less financial aid. They are very willing to help if you show willingness and determination. Just saying you need help will not get you anywhere. Constantly look and apply for scholarships and check in with the finances office often to see if anything is available for you. My education here is mostly worth what I am paying. Some classes are strictly by the book but the work you do really helps you learn.

It's nothing fancy, but we have all of the above listed things and regular intermural sports for students to participate. Lots of clubs are also available as well as social activities, which are suprisingly well attended.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Worth It, but Still So Expensive – A Penn state education is definately worth the price, however, tuition is still very expensive!

I Love Penn State – I love the standard of education at Penn state university. I like that I get a personalized education at a small side campus. Class sizes are small, so a student is encouraged to participate in learning and to seek additional help. I work in the peer tutoring center, and we are busy every day with a flow of students seeking extra help. It truly is an amazing place.

Excellent Education – The teachers at Penn State DuBois are extremely qualified and know their stuff. The only thing I believe that hurts this campus in regards to education is the number of teachers that teach certain subjects. There seems to be only one per subject which is unfortunate if one is not a fan of that proffessor.
College Senior 2011-07-28T23:21:49Z
Regional Campus – I find that the education level is extremely high and that the teachers are very qualified. Unfortunately I don't really know the students as well as I would if I were attending Main campus, so the classes are not quite as enjoyable, but still very educational. I suppose I just really like the idea of living on campuses instead of off. But a major perk is the price difference.
College Senior 2011-07-13T21:14:59Z
Classes Are Decent – It depends on what you are interested in, your gen ed's take a while because there are quite a bit of them that you have to take in order to satisfy your degree audit. However, the classes are okay and the teachers help you whenever they can.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Get Help as Soon as Possible – You should never wait to go ask for financial help. We just aquired a new financial aid officer and she is a big help, very friendly and can answer all of my questions. The FAFSA really helps too so make sure that you get those forms filled out on time and it will be a big help in the long run.

They Help Out a Lot – Through internships and work-study organizations they really help a lot, and they stick with you to find an employer
