Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Overall, most students seem to be very happy at Behrend. In fact, a lot of students who plan on transferring to University Park end up changing their minds and staying at Behrend. Students tend to think of Behrend as a great place or a comfortable setting. Students who are not happy at here blame it on the small size and lack of proximity to more fun things to do. Some Behrend students say it begins to feel like being in high school again after four years, but a lot of that depends on who you hang out with.

Behrend is definitely a small school, so anyone looking for a huge school should look elsewhere, but anyone interested in a moderately sized school with an extremely friendly student body and devoted and kind professors will be right at home here. Students who enjoy the idea of forming close bonds with professors, doing undergraduate research, and being able to visit professors whenever they need to will love the academic side of Behrend. People who want to get involved in campus activities also will love Behrend. Finally, anyone can feel comfortable at Behrend and find his or her niche. Behrend students are extremely accepting of anyone, and it is very easy to make friends in and out of class.

The Reason I Found This Scholarship

My first year of college I received a two thousand-dollar scholarship through Penn State without even having to fill out an application. As of this year, I found out that I am not eligiable for the same federal grants I was last year. So I visited the financial aid office where one of the advisers gave me an information card with several websites that could lead me toward scholarships including this one.

Intoxication Uncommon

Very few people ever appear to be visibly intoxicated at Penn State Erie. The topic of drug use is seldom to be heard among students. On the other hand, every now and then a beer bottle may be found on a lawn somewhere.

Laxatives

The food was good a the beginning, but now I am sick of it. It's the same thing over and over. Dobbins has to put laxatives in their food because it's called the Dobbins-Dash after you eat there.
