I have not dealt with the Career Services department at Penn State Mont Alto
College Freshman 2013-08-26T14:03:08Z
Teachers did not take the time to explain to those that were struggling. Classes were constantly being cancelled and students told to do this or that online with no explanation of anything

You can get books, computer programs, research, and any other resource you need from any campus. Because Penn State has such a large network of campuses, we can get resources from all of them. Sometimes you may have to wait for it to arrive but pretty much anything you would need can be attained.

I am in a very small major, so there is not much flexibility with my classes. Many of my major classes are only offered in one section so there is no choice in the schedule.

There is a wide diversity of students at PSMA. Many of the students are involved in athletics, clubs, THON, and work-study programs. Most are very accepting if you want to join one of these groups. Everyone is there with the goal of a degree and students can help each other succeed.

I love the diversity at the school. Students are very helpful and friendly. They don't judge and they make you fell welcome and i appreciate that because as a freshman I was very nervous the first day and i thought making new friends would be a struggle but i fit right in.

I like the academic teachers and they are pretty straight forward with the rules and regulations. I suggest that teachers make a note to students who weren't able to get to class the first for whatever reason to email or restate the rules and what is expected of students on the second day

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The amount of tuition is worth it i just wish i didn't knave to struggle each year to go back to school. I would like to win more scholarships and i understand there are people out there also seeking help financially. I just hope it doesn't come down to me having to put my education on hold because of financial issues

Sometimes they have special awareness days, but only for certain groups. They do not acknowledge some days for a particular group yet they observe others.

For the IST program I feel PSUMA has amazing teachers! (Except for one) I was disappointing though because I think they could offer more IST courses that would be more interesting.

I have not had a bad professor yet!! While there are some that were boring, none gave me a hard time with anything. I am a commuter, so I am not very active on campus but I do know there are a lot of clubs, groups, and activities.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I have learned a lot being here, like how to save.

The computer network is always working. I personally never had a problem withe the network.

The campus is so boring other then that the the teachers are really nice, and its just easy going. They have a lot of clubs that are really fun, the faculty try to make things happen on campus. I made a lot of friends here, since i am coming back next year it might not be that bad. The year is going by real fast, so i don't really like it here because i am a city girl, and it smell like cow poo most of the time.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Penn State has the highest in-state tuition, however I was able to get enough financial aid to cover it so far. However, having a degree from Penn State means a lot so i suppose it will be worth it to employers

I am a business/marketing major, my classes are not what I expected at this time. Right now I am overloaded with math classes.
College Freshman 2013-02-12T16:40:39Z
Most of the professors are good and explain things clearly. Most know what they are teaching. There are a few that do not live up to this standard.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
The school made promises about receiving in state tuition and did not follow through completely. It has been a struggle to stay in Penn State but so far so good.

This is the worst Penn State campus you could ever go to. DO NOT GO HERE. This is a warning. This is a very high school atmosphere and experience. The people who go here are judgmental and drama starters. The dorms are dirty and loud, the people here have no respect for others. If you go here, you will have atleast 50 conversations with several people about how much you hate this campus and the people in it. The classes and professors make up for it. But overall the experience will make you either wanna kill yourself or transfer.
College Sophomore 2012-11-01T02:19:32Z
The history of this campus is very interesting. The Chancellor has told many stories about the 'ghosts' on campus and how Mont Alto became part of the Penn State system

Library is my favorite building on campus. They have computer labs, private study rooms, and the media commons. I go there everyday I have a break to either get on a computer, study, or work on a project.
I am also in the Honors Program. I was very disappointed with the people in charge of the program. They do not return emails very quickly and have a very short window to speak with them during their office hours.
Other than that I do not participate in anything else on campus. Most for the fact that I still live at home and have 3 jobs outside of school.
College Sophomore 2012-11-01T02:10:50Z
I went to PSUMA mostly due to the fact that it was close to home. During my senior year of high school I participated in the Early to College program for some GE courses. Because of that I kind of fell through the cracks when it came to my freshmen year.
College Sophomore 2012-11-01T02:04:21Z
They have nice computer labs and there is usually always one open...at least when I need one. I also can connect my laptop to the wireless anywhere on the campus. They also have printers available as well as a scanner for students to use. There is also a media commons available to students with video and sound equipment.

The facilities on campus are great. they have the Academic Support Center where you can do your homework and you have tutors who are available when you need them. But its first come first serve. The cafeteria is also great. I work there and you can schedule your own working times around going to class and studying. The bad thing is that there is nothing to do on campus on the weekends. Many people go home and it is also hard to get home. You have to drive an hour to get to Harrisburg in order for you to get home.

The Campus – The campus itself is a very beautiful place, I've had no struggles with my courses. My only struggle this year is financial aid, which is very crucial for me. I live in a single-parent household and could use all the scholarships/ grants I can get, but have received none.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
