PARKING....SUCKS It is okay in the main lot, but there is never any open spots by the tech. center, where a majority of night classes take place...
College Freshman 2013-11-23T04:29:22Z
Parking is ok, but not a lot over by the tech center, and no bus or shuttle service to town... very poor here...

The athletic is great at Penn State, Wilkes Barre. You can watch soccer games, etc. and the fitness room is awesome, a lot for students to do!

This campus is out in the country, no gun shots or police. A nice campus in the woods area. It is the best.

I gave everything a 5 star rank, and for a very important reason. Technology on this campus is the best 100% no flaws. Wireless is great everything you name it, it is 100% perfected here.

Health & Safety:
It is the best because, the campus security is there, but not everywhere. This is great because you have freedoms to do what you want. No checking in, or doing any of that stupid stuff. Just freedom and liberty.

Well, I am a transferred student and the program that I joined has been working with Luzerne County Community College (where I transferred from), so getting into my program wasn't difficult at all. Normally for students to get into a program, they have to be sophomores and had fulfilled the required courses.

What I love the most about my school is that in there I am not just a number, I am me. The staff and faculty know me by my name. They notice things about their students. And most importantly, they really care about all of their students. My campus specializes in my major, the students and faculty in my program are amazing people. The student life is great, there are many different students' organizations to get involved-in.

In our campus, staff and faculty are very strict on what the have to be and a laid-back in somethings. I.e. anything involving drugs, alcohol, cheating, violence, and other situations around this matters, they don't play about it. The would go full-power and hardcore about it. But stuff like: a first offender parking violator, or a past due payment, are not much of a deal. To put it in a more simple way, they use their common sense.

The restaurants around our campus are fantastic: the places look nice, the food is super delicious (able to satisfy any taste), the prices are very reasonable (very very cheap). I.e. a large Italian place would cost less than $12.00, you just can't beat that!

All of the facilities are well equipped for their functions. They are also very well maintained and clean. The Student Commons, the hangout area, has a bunch of different games to dis-stressed yourself and it's right next to the cafe; which make it even better.
College Senior 2013-07-17T06:43:01Z
It should be open a bit longer for the on-campus students. It would be a lot more convenient to us to just walk to the cafe, than to drive a restaurant.
College Senior 2013-02-25T03:28:45Z
There needs to be more parking available for students. You should try to get to campus a little early in order to get a good parking spot.

Athletics are not a big part at my school. My school is more academic oriented.

Health & Safety:
I have never felt unsafe. I know that we have cameras around and I see security gaurds walk around campus at all hours.

There are four different apartment buildings that the students live in. The first two are Aspen and Birch, which are the newer and more expensive apartments. The other two are Oak and Hemlock, which are the older ones but are a few thousand dollars cheaper. I feel like it's not too much of a difference because all the buildings are within walking distance from each other and all provide the same things.

There really isn't too much of a Nightlife at Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Every weekend students make an attempt to throw parties, that usually involve everyone sitting around listening to music or a few people playing pong. Usually these parties, never last for too long because a Residential Assistant shuts them down. Off campus, the closest 18 and older club is the Woodlands. This club is usually full of high school kids or middle aged men. I wouldn't describe this club as much fun either but at least it's something to do.

Driving Necessary – There are a lot of off-campus dining options- and good ones! But they all require about a five minute drive. Extremely wide variety, from authentic mexican, sushi/japanese, fast food joints, pizza places, ice cream parlors, chinese, etc!

Very Nice Apartments! Two buildings are air conditioned while two are not, however; both facilities are extremely nice. Rooms are furnished and there is a tv in the living room.

Sports Teams Rising up – Over the past couple years the sports teams have excelled. It is a great program and steadily becoming more known.

High Prices – The food is very good however you must pay per item and they are pricey.

Great Apartments – PSU WB has just recently built apartments buildings for students. They are very nice and the price is affordable!
College Junior 2012-07-06T16:44:46Z
No Buses – PSU WB is a small school and most students either commute or have their own car to go places. With gas prices as high as they were this past year, it was not always easy to get around.

No Supervision – If their are parties that are during the week the RA's don't do anything about them. There is a noise curfue but it is not enforced.

Professors Worked Their Specific Major – All professors worked in the field that they teach. They also keep updating book and new technology informationt that can effect our major in the future.
