PhilaU is a very small school that takes some time to get used to. Lots of students find a niche to belong in, but life can be very difficult for those who don't.

Basically don't ask don't tell. As long as students are not causing problems there will be no trouble.

SEPTA can be taken all over Philadelphia and some surrounding areas. As for travelling outside the city, buses/other can be taken from center city.
College Junior 2013-11-18T17:15:19Z
The financial aid office can be difficult to work with as they are often very busy.
College Junior 2013-11-18T17:11:55Z
Lots of locals disapprove of students in the area. Sometimes are disrespectful and/or cause problems. Most of the time students find places to hang out elsewhere than near campus
College Junior 2013-11-18T17:10:41Z
PA weather is expected to be rainy/cold at times, makes it much less enjoyable to travel to/be on campus
College Junior 2013-11-18T17:09:56Z
There are a few bars in the same neighborhood as campus, and a lot more a bit farther away in either center city or manayunk

campus housing for freshman is small, rooms are shared, common bathrooms. upper classmen have limited selection to outdated apartments or townhouses with still small rooms, but better bathrooms and kitchens included.

The security guards are awesome and its right next to one of the dining halls which is great, but there are two sides to the campus and the freshmen dorms are on one side while most classes are on the other side of campus.

Almost everyone here is here on a scholarship of some sort, probably because the school is expensive, but that's another story. The only thing more I wish they would do was provide full financial aid based off of the FAFSA.

There are plenty of PCs and Macs for anyone to use.

In the suburbs of Philly with easy access to center city, but still maintains the feel of a small school

Great for design oriented majors, not so much others

College Freshman 2013-10-16T02:58:33Z
Manayunk is a great town nearby with a lot of great places to hangout and eat.
College Freshman 2013-10-16T02:57:47Z
The baffet type dining gets old after a while, but the eat as you go always hits the spot
College Freshman 2013-10-16T02:55:25Z
The facilities such as the gym and the sport fields are great
College Freshman 2013-10-16T02:54:26Z
I would say a c because the university is small so greek life is not that big on campus.
College Freshman 2013-10-16T02:53:34Z
the housing has its good but has its perks. some residences do not have air condition.
College Freshman 2013-10-16T02:51:40Z
The campus is beautiful and very clean. The percentage rate for jobs after graduation is very high. The social life can be a bit boring at times

I am a Behavioral Health major, although I'm satisfied with the university's curriculum, and my professors, there is an aspect of the university I do not approve of. Which is their academic honors policy. Evening students are not eligible for honors recognition until graduation. This is a concept that is utterly ridiculous. Furthermore, the universities policy for academic honors does not specify this fact.
College Senior 2013-10-08T15:04:57Z
I will get to the campus, regardless of the weather. However, in extreme weather the university is closed as it should be.

Keep good records of what is offered to you. Follow up on award letters to get your maximal amount of financial aid.

The Fashion Design program does not currently have a portfolio requirement. I created an e portfolio to display my portfolio on my own and forwarded the link to the admissions team.
