There are not any public transportation buses or taxies in this area because of it being such a small town

The requirements at the beginning of freshman year are a little steep. The compass program is a little different and I am not sure how i feel about this at this time.

I do not live on campus therefore i cannot give a valid answer for this review

Growing up in a small town makes going to college in a small town easier. Many students did not grow up around the area which makes it difficult for them to adjust to small town living. Many people say they dont enjoy being on campus because there isnt anything in the area to do.

Wi-fi is not always the greatest on campus and there is a lot of trouble with some of the specific websites used for homework. The IT department is always willing to get as much done as possible though when ever something comes up and they can help.

Health & Safety:
I do not live on campus, therefore I cannot give an accurate answer to this review.

I currently live off campus, but the commuter parking lot is okay. We could use some extra parking spots since we share a parking lot with the gym, but overall its quite nice.

Piedmont's athletes make up much of the population. As a freshman you are required to go to at least one sporting event for your freshman introduction class, and I personally think it is important for all students to know how well their athletes compete on the field and in the class room.

The walk from the commuter parking lot is rough in the fall and winter, but very enjoyable in the spring and summer. Weather in Northeast Georgia can be quite unpredictable which means you never know what you walk across campus will be like.

Guys & Girls:
There are a wide variety of people to meet in Athens. You can make friends very easy. If you are not familiar with the place there will always be someone to help you out.

Restaurants are what really makes Athens worth coming to. There is so many options and styles to chose from. You will never get tired of the food here.

The drug scene at Piedmont college is not very big. If people are doing drugs it is not really known. I think drinking is the biggest concern that anyone should worry about.

We have a lot of computer labs on campus, though they are not always available due to classes. Once classes are over for the day though, or during the times that classes don't use the labs, they're great places to get some work done. The library has lots of computers, as well as places to use your laptops, and I'm pretty sure every academic building has at least one computer lab. The computers usually work very well, too. One might have an issue every now and then, but they're computers, it happens.

We're in Georgia, so the weather can be temperamental. During the week it can vary by about 20 degrees sometimes. I actually love the weather here. When it rains, it can be difficult getting to class, especially if you want to be dry.

Lions Sports – I don't really attend the games, but there is a lot of team spirit at Piedmont. The Women's basketball team ranked very high this year. The men's basketball team had a lot of injuries and they aren't playing this season.

If you're looking for a good bar/club scene, I feel that you'll be happy with down town Athens. A huge variety of bars and clubs with weekly specials full of college aged patrons can be fun for any night life lover. Taxis and shuttles are available.
College Freshman 2013-08-19T19:53:22Z
Parking is located right in front of the building. Classes have already started and I can always find a parking spot.
College Freshman 2013-08-19T19:51:05Z
There isn't a drug problem at the school. There is however a bit of an alcohol problem and that is because the campus I'm attending is right next to the down town area.

The process was rather standard in that I applied, submitted the requested documentation and it was received. There were two admittance options for the Graduate Education program. That was a plus since I moved a lot. My experience as an educator was considered in the admissions process. Admissions communicated with me by email regarding my status. Within two weeks of applying I received a conditionally admitted letter. My official acceptance came by week four.

I cannot comment on student housing since I did not have that experience.

Our local cohort is located in a town that is slow paced but still close enough to head the big city of Atlanta. Tons to do there, concerts and nightlife. Locally there is a new entertainment complex that has skating, bowling, Go-Karts and lazier tag. So there's definitely fun to be had when bored!

On the front end I was unsure of what I needed to submit. When I called or emailed they responded promptly and professionally. My paperwork was processed in a timely manner.

I am not a campus student. I attend a local cohort class.

There are several places you can go to live off campus, but by the time you add up the cost, up keeping, and other expenses, it is just as costly as living on campus without the monthly payments and gas costs.

At Piedmont College, and many others, the Alcohol scene is the largest scene taking place on campus and off campus. If you are bored, there is always somewhere to go to have a good time, that includes drinking. It ranges from all sorts of students who go to the parties, and some parties include free alcohol with a 5 dollar entrance fee. This scene is huge.
