Tuition & Financial Aid:
I consider the C to be a grade of average for financial aid. Financial Aid is a very busy office, the people handling the applications could be a little nicer, and during times of new enrollment the staff should be doubled. When calling to ask a simple question, it is impossible to get through. If the staff reviewing the applications is unable to be doubled, I think it would be very helpful to have a mini call center staffed possibly by students to offer answers for basic questions the additional staff wouldn't require the ability to see the callers student profile, only answer basic questions that at this time you have to email, or leave a message and wait days to hear back if ever.

I have taken the majority of my classes online. I have been very pleased with the instruction, the blackboard system, and the instructors. Being able to take classes online is the only way Ive been successful and able to return to college at 31 with two children and a full time job. Without online classes I would not have the ability to attend college. I am disappointed that all of the classes they offer don't have a sister online class, some classes just aren't offered online, which is going to slow me down a lot.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Tuition is a little bit high for the students who need financial aid, but overall very good.

I'm a nursing major, and I love my classes so far. They are good and flexible. The classes don't overwhelm you with tight schedules and you get great electives.

As a student it is very important to know what career and degree you desire and need before you graduate. The school counselors are there to provide additional help. The counselors help the alumni plan his or her future goals to graduate with a degree.

The advantages of going to Piedmont Community College, are variety course classes you may take during Summer, Spring, and Fall seasons. The campus is an avarage size compared to other campuses. The campus also has set sport programs, clubs, academic classes, scholarships, and financial student aid. PVCC interacts with alumnis and the alumnis interact with fellow classmates. One-on-one student-teacher interaction.

I was able to complete my degree in reasonably good time (~2.75 years) while working full-time. All of my needed classes were readily available.

I found most administrators and teachers to be very aware of the needs of working, adult students. While not compromising the need to do the work, they worked with me when work schedules were particularly demanding.

I chose to attend PVCC because I would be able to get my degree almost entirely online.

I was used to more resources coming from a larger schoool. But there are enough great people here to help with what ever is needed. I found a gym last week that I had no idea existed and if there is something I need I have learned to ask because the more I ask the more resources I have learned about. I love the writing center and library. The folks working in bothe these areas are so knowledgable and ready to help. My writting was never horrible but has omproved 10 fold since using those resources.

I'm a nursing major and have heard amazing things about the program. Many of the local hospitals and healthcare facilities prefer nurses coming out of this program because they are prepared to hit the ground running and have the clinical experience and education to do so.

There are many oppritunities at my school. There are ride share program and public transportation for students looking to save on gas. There are constantly activities involving the arts and ways to get involved in sports. Clubs are numerous and because the school is home to so many diverse groups it's easy to find a place to belong. Because it is a community college the facilities do not add up to the previous 4-year school I attended, but the commuity atmosphere is fantastic. The change was hard but I have been very happy now that I am settled.

I chose to stay at PVCC because of the great things I have heard through out the community of my expected career. I have enoyed my time so far and am very excited to continue. My professors in my major seem very knowledgable and ready to help each student succeed. They have all worked in the feild in which they are now teaching. I have heard that students coming out of my current program are very prepared for the career ahead of them and are often choosen over other Community College as well as some 4-year colleges in the area.

I use the computer lab infrequently, but the times that I have needed it I didn't have an issue. I walked right in and got started. Printing is easy from either the computer lab or the libray and cheap at $0.05 for a black and white copy. I use the library a lot for studying and have never had an issue connecting wirelessly to the network and seem to whip at a pretty good speed through the interent. I do not try to stream vidoes or game, simply check email and do research for papers.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Really tough to grade this: The tuition rate is hard to beat. VERY affordable for in-state students. The financial aid process, however, is painful. It is nearly impossible to talk with someone in person or on the phone. The telephone is NEVER answered and calls are not returned.

Piedmont Virginia Community College has an incredible array of career services and 'partners' with local employers to train employees.

The facility is minimal. Aesthetics are better than they were at my high school but it looked like a prison! I had to pay for a private gym membership this year. The new auditorium is nice and the view is pretty. A garden or park like area would help.

The class schedules are flexible. I needed to work for several theatrical productions (and as a nanny) during the Fall and Winter. PVCC's course schedule could accomodate this.

I was a Freshman this year so am not graduating from PVCC but transfering to VCU. I will receive credit for my course work and enter VCU as a Sophomore in the Fall. My PVCC Art professor went out of his way to be helpful with my application portfolio.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
