College Prowler Take
Pitzer students have six all-you-can-eat dining halls to choose from. Quantity is not an issue. Some students find that they get bored with on-campus dining. Flex Dollars, used at non-cafeteria eateries, helps to diversify the menu, yet for some, it’s still inadequate. For these students, it is best to opt out of the meal plan. Students who decide to opt out or purchase a smaller meal plan have several options: eat out in the many surrounding restaurants, use on-campus kitchens to cook, or join a co-op and cook with friends. Campus dining isn’t bad; there is a large selection of places to eat—in all six full-service dining halls, one full restaurant, four smaller restaurants, one coffeehouse, and a formal dinner venue. Despite the variety, even those who initially love the food are bound to get a little bored. Students tend to favor brunch and breakfast food, but some students are of the opinion that you can not go wrong with preparing breakfast food. Many students turn to off-campus dining to pacify the adventurous eater within; with LA’s fantastic culinary, this isn’t hard. Most students like to complain, but when asked sincerely, they admit the food is good.

Eight Dining Halls to Choose from
A+
McConnell, Pitzer's dining hall, has pretty good food. We have the Market Grill, where you can order anything from grilled cheese and chicken tenders to hot dogs and hamburgers. The Market Grill is very tasty. Also, McConnell is famous for its amazing Macaroni and Cheese, served randomly during the week. If McConnell gets boring, the other campuses have seven other dining halls to choose from, three of which are at Pomona.

Variety, Quality -- Better Than Some Restaurants
A+
At Pitzer, our executive chef is a graduate of the Culinary School of America, and it shows (ate once at a UC, and it was terrible!). Consistently good quality food, and you can eat at any of the other colleges' dining halls too! I have actually been glad to get back to dining hall food at the end of a break.

You're Crazy If You Think the Food Is Bad!
A+
Due to the fact that Pitzer is apart of the Claremont Consortium, we not only have access to one amazing dining hall, but 7 of them! All of the Claremont College's dining halls are top notch, but in particular Pitzer specializes in locally grown and organic and vegan food options. Most days I think the meals I eat on campus are better than the meals I have at home.

Yum Yum
A
I love how we can eat at all five Claremont College dining halls. The food never really gets boring because there are so many options. I am a vegetarian and am allergic to gluten, and I have never gone hungry. The dining halls do a great job of serving everyone and almost always take students' comments about the food seriously. The food at Pitzer is absolutely delicious! Taco Tuesday is my favorite, and the homemade vegan burgers at the grill are superb.

There's a Lot of Choice
B+
Dining hall food tends to be very repetitive, but it's great because you can go to other colleges to eat any meal with your meal plan. All the dining halls are buffet style, so you can eat as much as you want. You also get flex dollars depending on the meal plan you're on - these can be used to buy food from any of the stores on campus. The Claremont Colleges offer a lot of choice, all within walking distance. Everything is very convenient.

Did You Know?Pitzer’s Grove House was built in 1902, during the American Arts and Crafts Movement. Pitzer College saved the house from demolition by first buying and then moving the house to Pitzer campus. Now this house serves as a social center, and home-style eatery.
You can sit under a famous mural while you eat. Although belonging to Pomona College, Pitzer students can eat at Frary dining hall, home to the famous fresco of “Prometheus” painted by muralist Jose Clemente Orozco in 1930.
Pitzer students can use their meal plans at the eateries located at the other Claremont Colleges, including the California Grill and Collins Dining Hall at Claremont McKenna, the Coop, Frank Dining Hall, the Sagehen Cafe, and Frary Dining Hall at Pomona, Malott at Scripps, and the Mudd Hole and Platt Dining Room at Harvey Mudd.
