Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There is no true "average" student at Pitzer. All the students feel differently about how the guys and girls look, mainly because judging looks is so subjective. For the most part, though, the general trend of opinions seems to say that there are a great deal more beautiful girls than good-looking guys at the College. Add into this the fact that the girl/guy ratio is disproportionate and you have complaints all across the spectrum. Guys are lucky enough to have their pick of beautiful girls, but, true to societal trends, girls tend to go more for personality than looks. This isn't to say that there aren't any good-looking guys at Pitzer, because there most certainly are; girls just happen to be more plentiful at the 5Cs (especially with Scripps, the all-female college). The ratio of girls to guys, however, is not so devastatingly different that it has a huge impact on the dating scene.

When you do venture to find some late-night lovin', attending one of the 5C parties is a great place to start. As a whole, students of the Claremont Colleges are a sexually promiscuous bunch, but not so much so that it gets out of hand. Even the Student Health Services center suggests that students have healthy sex lives, and you better believe that Pitzer students take that advice to heart.

Everyone Smells

People think that paying $56,000 a year gives them entitlement to not shower, brush their hair, or wear shoes. Everyone thinks they are a hippie and it is few and far between that you will find a nicely dressed person. I am curious if these people are interested in ever finding a job that isn't at a record store or a head shop. What is funny though, is that everyone's totally vintage clothing was probably purchased for lots of money, because believe me, their parent's have that money to spare.

Guys & Girls

In my opinion there are far more attractive girls than there are guys at Pitzer. Being in a consortium definitely helps. I don't know what I would do if it weren't for the other colleges.

Hotties

The people who go to pitzer college are beautiful, inside and out. There tends to be like ONE type of look for boys (and girls) here though...even though they start out with really varied style freshman year everyone starts dressing the same by like soph/junior year. but i'm okay with it because everyone looks cute! annoying as f*** that there are like a million times more girls that guys.

Facts

Social Scene

The social scene at Pitzer is very friendly and community-based. By the time you finish your freshman year, chances are you will know (or know of, at the very least) most of the student body. Students have a diverse range of friends and, while there are some cliques, they are not exclusive. The parties at the Claremont Colleges allow for students from all five schools to interact, making it easier to branch out and make friendships you might not have made while on Pitzer's campus. Being able to take classes at the other 5Cs makes this easier, as well. As a whole, Claremont is a very tight-knit consortium, and you will be able to find your niche with ease.

Hookups or Relationships?

Relationships at Pitzer and the rest of the Claremont Colleges are typical of college life. Some students frequently have casual hookups, while others prefer monogamy and relationships. One-night stands are not uncommon; neither are friendships or random hookups that turn into relationships. There is no true general consensus about relationship statuses at Pitzer—they always vary from person to person.

Dress Code

Pitzer students have very eclectic tastes when it comes to style. A great deal of students are "hipsters" who rock Ray-Bans, plaid shirts, and beanies. On the other hand, there are also many students who have styles that are completely their own and who do not necessarily fit into any style category.
