Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Pitzer is a truly wonderful place filled with people who want to make a difference and embrace change. There does not exist one specific Pitzer student; rather, once on campus, you will be welcomed by a myriad of different personalities, opinions, and likes and dislikes. If there were to be a general consensus about the students at Pitzer, it would be that they are driven individuals who seek to make the world a better place. But Pitzer students could not do what they do alone. The student body is a reflection of a much bigger entity: the faculty, staff, administration, groundskeepers, dining hall workers, and everyone else who makes a contribution to the school help to unify it and make it the amazing place the students know it as today. The school has grown so much, and it has only been around since 1963! One can only imagine what immense changes are to come.

Most students enjoy their time at Pitzer and the Claremont Consortium as a whole, though some common complaints include the cost, the lack of school spirit, and the pretty tame party scene. If you look past all of this, though, you will inevitably see that being given the chance to study at Pitzer is the opportunity of a lifetime. Pitzer is not your average higher education institution; it offers unique opportunities such as traveling with your professor to do research or working closely with the administration to make the school the place you want it to be. You may come here for an education, but in reality, you're going to walk away with a whole lot more.

Good Memories

I've had a great time at Pitzer. It's a great place that really helps you grow and develop as a person. I don't know if I would do the whole college thing at Pitzer again, but I wouldn't trade my experience for anything.

Best of Both Worlds

There is a great social scene at Pitzer College because of the Claremont Consortium. It is the best of both worlds because while there isn't always that many parties at Pitzer, you can easily go over to CMC or Mudd and can also choose to have a quiet night inside without worrying about noise.

Whatever You Want It to Be

Pitzer, and Claremont as a whole, really, is whatever you make of it. It's easy to be social. It's easy to be studious. Of course, sometimes it's hard to be both. There are plenty of opportunities here whatever you want to do.
