Pitzer is located in beautiful Southern California, where there is no lack of sun—that's for sure. Idyllically situated at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains, Pitzer's location offers the best of both worlds for students who love sun and snow. Mount Baldy is only a few minutes away from campus, and students often venture to the top for some skiing or snowboarding during the winter. For the majority of the months during the year, though, Pitzer students are all about the sun.
There is no shortage of beaches in Southern California; it is only a matter of taking your pick on which one to visit. If you don't want to leave campus, you can enjoy the wonderful weather by lounging at the Gold Student Center pool, or hanging out and tanning on the Mounds. The heat can get overwhelming, though, especially during the beginning months of school. Move-in day is always the worst, with temperatures often reaching above and beyond 100 degrees. During the winter and early spring, nights can become very chilly due to the desert landscape, so be sure to pack a sweatshirt or jacket along with your sunglasses and flip-flops!

Are You Kidding Me?
Gorgeous. Always. When it JUST starts to get too hot in the summer, it's time to leave and go home. There is nothing better than So Cal weather.

Sunny
The weather is always warm and sunny. In winter, it's about 60 to 80 degrees. Very comfortable weather, and does not affect campus experience.
