The math major is one of Pomona's best and most popular majors. Through the Claremont Consortium more than 140 unique math classes are offered, and the academic flexibility of the math major makes it easy to study exactly what it is you want. The math teachers are among the most quirky, helpful, and brilliant teachers at Pomona.

Having trouble getting into a specific major is absolutely ridiculous. You get whateve rmajor you want and can change as often and as many times as you like as long as you can find an advisor. No questions asked.

Spanish Major – I love the Spanish program and that I can take classes at other schools to fit my schedule. I love all of the opportunities from the amazing Oldenborg Center for Modern Languages and International Relations to Sigma Delta Pi (the national Hispanic honors society). My career goal is to work for a school district, translating between English, Spanish, Hindi, Russian, Portuguese, and German. I don't have any concerns about finding a job in my field because I can always translate documents from home!

Great Professors – As a history major, I have had the opportunity to take classes with a lot of great professors. They are all very helpful and always willing to talk to you outside of class.

I can say that entering my major was very easy, but I also took a lot of Media Studies courses before I had to declare my major. All of the professors in the department are laid-back but helpful. They are also VERY invested in their studies, so you can ask them almost anything media-related and get a responses supported by years of reading theoretical works. The most important thing for admission would be the desire to look at media in a way that will make you uncomfortable and most likely mad at the world around you...it will be your job to be a critical theorist.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
