PCC offers online classes as another option for students who need to have flexible schedules. With online classes, students have homework every week as well as discussions. The teacher gives students at least one week to complete every assignment. Sometimes, the teacher even lets the students know in advance what's coming up, as dictated by the syllabus, so there are really no huge surprises.
The grading is similar to classroom-style grading. In fact, sometimes it is easier since it is an online class. There shouldn’t be any concerns about online classes since you can always email the instructor for clarification. With online classes, PCC also offers online tutoring to help students succeed; students can also meet up with fellow classmates on campus for extra help, if they wish. Some students think that online classes are very difficult since they cannot ask questions and see instructors face to face, but that’s not always true. Students can contact their teacher by email or post questions via class discussions online; typically, the teacher or even a classmate will respond, so students have a good support system in place. There is more help and resources available to students than they think—it's just knowing the right doors to open.
