Portlands got some good nightlife, not poppin every night of the week but there is always something to do.

Great clean, friendly, progressive and environmentally conscious.

I've never seen any Greek students or knew of any frat houses.

Health & Safety:
I've never felt unsafe while on campus usually feel very relaxed and comfortable.

With the food carts not too far away, and a ton of local places, I think there is something for everyone.
College Senior 2013-10-29T21:52:41Z
Not too many choices but overall a good experience

It rains a lot here and we have a beautiful area that's part of the park blocks so we don't get to enjoy being out in the warm weather surrounded by greenery. Most of the time we are indoors escaping the cold and rain.

Guys & Girls:
PSU is a commuter school so you get all kinds of people which makes it very interesting. All different age groups, ethnicities, and cultures. I think it kind of lends itself to the more eccentric artsy type.

It rains a lot in portland during the winter which makes it pretty wet, grey, and cold. On the upside the rain really makes for a very lush environment. Beautiful trees and plants during the spring and summer.
College Sophomore 2013-10-26T06:03:18Z
The school is downtown so there is a lot of access to public transportation. Its also very bike friendly.
College Freshman 2013-10-23T20:41:01Z
I'm not aware of Greek life at PSU.

Health & Safety:
We are in the city, so there are police throughout the city, but I don't see many patrolling campus. Campus feels fairly safe and I don't worry.
College Senior 2013-10-20T01:00:16Z
Public transportation is great. There is a streetcar that goes directly through campus and busses to almost all areas of Portland.

Guys & Girls:
Social life is very limited at Portland State. As a commuter school, you will find that most people already have friends and relationships from outside of campus life. This does not mean you can't make friends or meet significant others, it just isn't as much of a priority for most students.
College Senior 2013-10-17T22:09:11Z
I'd say everything's is pretty good. All the resources are good, just full, hard to get into which isn't good for students who have work and classes and not a flexible schedule.
College Senior 2013-10-17T22:07:47Z
I don't have a car but I have friends with cars and it doesn't seem worth it to buy parking for a term on campus. It's very expensive and I'm sure if you got creative you could think up a better way like buying at a different garage and walking or taking the bus. It should be easier, less expensive, because who wants to think of that on top of everything.
College Senior 2013-10-17T22:05:19Z
They have all the resources for my major but still the school is really more of an art major school.
College Senior 2013-10-17T22:03:38Z
I've never had any problems. They work fast, there's many different types for different needs, they're in different areas, and you can print right from your own laptop. It's just sometimes there's low availability.

Portland State is a commuter college. Most of the students live at home and commute here for their education. The fresh Rec center is very appealing with somewhat new equipment. Student life can be adventurous. A college located in downtown is exciting. There is plenty of places to go see and restaurants to try.

The facilities are somewhat okay. This campus is pretty huge and mainly consist of building through-out downtown. At times, it would be nice just to have a campus with closer proximity. The business program is amazing, some of the professors are very creditable and intelligent.

The local atmosphere is pretty good at Portland State. One will experience a unique Portland/hipster vibe while at this college. The people are very friendly and a sense of diversity is present within the campus.

I'm not affiliated with any sort of sports.
College Senior 2013-10-07T16:45:47Z
The Gender and Sexuality program is important as we are dealing with a lot of bigotry here in the US. The professors are open minded and are willing to help all groups of people succeed regardless of race, gender, orientation, etc.
College Senior 2013-10-07T16:43:11Z
I did a transfer from community college into the university program without a hitch. They have a great co enrollment program that makes transitioning smooth.
College Senior 2013-10-07T16:40:42Z
There are multiple computer labs located through out campus and people willing to help figure out how they work.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
