My only complaint is that parking permits are too expensive.

The permits are pretty expensive, and on street parking can be tricky, but it is doable. Public transportation is really the way to go.

Get a bike or ride the MAX. I'd do anything not to park downtown. Besides, the afore mentioned ideas will keep you in shape.

can be hard to find parking beacuse its downtown but there is alot of parking structures around campus

Parking passes are expensive as are bus passes. A car is helpful but not necessary!
