Recently, Princeton restaurants have started to diversify. Now it is possible to sample a wide variety of ethnic cuisines, whereas four years ago, the selection was limited. New Jersey’s top-rated sushi restaurant, Ajihei, is a two-minute walk from campus. Students have made a cult of Witherspoon Street’s Sakura Express, sending postcards from around the world to the two sushi chefs. Students favor Olives,the takeout Greek deli, and Zorba's, the takeout Greek restaurant. Several mid-range options, such as the popular Italian Teresa’s provide options for nicer nights out. High-end restaurants, including the Ferry House and Mediterra, are popular amongst wealthy “townies” and parents in for the weekend. For a town its size, Princeton offers dozens of restaurant options. Some restaurants in town are certainly too expensive for a student’s budget, but those restaurants are generally saved for special occasions, such as Parents’ Weekend. If there is a cuisine that is not represented by Princeton’s restaurants, it is easy enough to get on a train and find something in New York.
