College Prowler Take
Providence provides residents and visitors with a plethora of dining choices. From upscale Italian on Federal Hill to the more eclectic flavors of Thayer Street, the city has something to offer every gourmet, except, of course, the indecisive. Certain local spots become staples in the PC collegiate dining experience. Lili Wok is ideal for ordering in on those frigid nights when it’s just too cold to warrant walking anywhere else. When you have stayed out so late, it becomes folly to return home without some sort of nourishment, and many PC students turn to Admiral Spa for sustenance in those wee morning hours. But, at 2 a.m., nothing is more appetizing than a slice of Golden Crust with bleu cheese. (Warning: Do not eat sober!) The ritual parents’ weekend would not be complete without an outing to Federal Hill, especially when you know the 'rents are paying. While everyone maintains a personal favorite suitable to their palette, all appreciate the innumerable choices available. The closest thing to a NY slice of pizza is Antonio’s on Thayer Street, but unfortunately, they do not deliver. However, many eateries do deliver, including Sicilia’s on Federal Hill, but a drawback to delivery is that in the snow it can take up to two hours. Some places, such as Mai Tai, accept credit cards for those running short on cash. Dining out and delivery are an excellent option when you’ve run out of Slavin money and Ray disappoints yet again. Offering a diverse selection of cuisine for all budgets, Providence restaurants subscribe to the old adage, "Variety is the spice of life."

If there is one great thing in...
If there is one great thing in Providence, it is the amount of restaurants we have. Within walking distance are the Admiral Spa, which is a great, cheap breakfast place, and LaSalle Bakery for sandwiches and deserts. In town there are a ton of chain restaurants like The Cheesecake Factory, but also unique ones, as well. For some excellent food and a ton of places to choose from, I recommend Federal Hill, especially Mediterraneo, but it is quite pricey.

There are many restaurants...
There are many restaurants surrounding PC. The Providence Place Mall has a lot of good restaurants with cheap prices, such as The Cheesecake Factory, Fire + Ice, and Joe's American Bar and Grille. There are also pizza places right near campus if you feel like ordering in for the night. A good place to go for more expensive food, which is good for dates or special occasions, is Federal Hill. It is filled with a number of Italian restaurants and dessert bars. For warmer days and something fun to do in the afternoon, Thayer Street is right near the Brown campus and has restaurants, along with pizza places, ice cream and smoothie shops, and coffee shops.

Two words: Fire + Ice. Usually, when you’re going out to eat from school, you’re going with a group of friends. Not only is Fire + Ice great food, but it’s the easiest to split the bill. It’s a buffet and runs about 15 dollars for dinner and even less for lunch. You personalize your own stir fry plate and most importantly, it’s all you can eat! |

Restaurants are excellent! Brickway on Wickeden is wonderful for breakfast. There is Olives if you want a good martini and great jazz music. |

The restaurants off campus are amazing. On Thayer Street, I would hit up Kartabar (really interesting Mediterranean food), Phillipe’s (for really good wraps and sandwiches), or even Café Paragon (for a slightly nicer sit-down meal.) |
