Campus dining is lovely, there is a large variety in food selection in the dining hall. I am constantly trying new dishes, some I have never even heard of; which is a wonderful experience for me. The food is priced to where it is affordable to have three meals a day and maybe even a few snacks.

Although I, myself do not live on-campus, I know quite a few people who have spoken positively about it. Coming from the words of people who live on-campus, they find it to be comfortable and spacious, similar to home. The dormitories are fairly close in distance from the classes.

Every student who attends Purdue Calumet is charged a fee that is generally included in their tuition; which is approximately eighty-one dollars. As far as tickets and fees, I have not heard much about students receiving any, but they are acknowledged. For those who live on-campus, a car is a bit unnecessary seeing that the majority of places are in reasonable proximity. As for parking spaces, it can be a challenge to spot a satisfying parking space, especially when the winter is approaching. When looking for a parking spot, I would consider the time of day as well as the day of the week; both play a huge factor when search for the right spot.

Health & Safety:
During my time attending Purdue Calumet, I have not felt threaten even though there are security emails sent out to all students that alarm us if there is any criminal activity present in the area. I honestly feel relatively safe as I travel from class to class or anywhere else on campus.

I hear of a few parties in the dorms but for the most part this campus is calm and people are hear just for classes.

It is a poor community. Most students live at home with parents and commute to school.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T19:12:56Z
There are some groups on campus but they do not have different housing and you dont really hear anything about them.

I got a scholarship from the school and have financial aid from the government. It was an easy process and I'm paying little to go to school here.

Well we live in Northwest Indiana so we have a good bit of rain and now snow.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T19:09:36Z
I have never actually seen the dorms. I just know the buildings are across the street. They are apartment style and people say they're nice.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T19:08:05Z
I always have to park in the furthest parking lot and now that its winter its too cold to walk that far.

We do have a lot of international and students from other states here on sports scholarships. They are trying to build the programs but its at a rough starting point at the moment.

Mostly just fastfood which is cheap but definitely not providing many choices or healthy options.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T19:03:33Z
There's not many choices in majors. I want to be a Biomedical Engineering Technology major so that's the first reason I want to switch schools. Just the atmosphere feels like highschool and not like college.

We're located in Hammond, Indiana off Idiana 152. It's kind of in the ghetto but the campus is nice and relatively modern.

Guys & Girls:
I have made some friends here just by simply sitting by them in class. Otherwise there are no activities where I met people. Usually the engineering, math, and science kids are the nicest and most friendly.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T18:57:49Z
The food is just gross. Definitely even worse than highschool. Not many options.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T18:57:00Z
I drive to school which if there's traffic it takes about an hour. There's basically only two main roads to take from my direction and they are both terribly busy. For people living on campus they just walk across the street.
College Freshman 2013-11-15T18:55:10Z
It's mostly a commuter campus so people only really come here to go to class and then leave. They have computer labs but it's a mixuture of macs and windows. Not all computers work or print and you can rarely find an open one on campus.
College Sophomore 2013-11-14T03:54:09Z
Trying to find a computer in the afternoon is a pain
College Sophomore 2013-11-14T03:51:43Z
I'm not on campus that much to worry about them.
College Sophomore 2013-11-14T03:50:56Z
I don't care for sports.
College Sophomore 2013-11-14T03:50:19Z
Many fast food places, nothing new.
College Sophomore 2013-11-14T03:49:13Z
The admissions office is a hassle. Not convenient
College Sophomore 2013-11-14T03:48:46Z
Very affordable and usually satisfying!
