Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

The police at Purdue are quite strict and won’t hesitate to crack down on underage drinking, drugs, and illegal parking. However, it seems that if you’re smart about what you’re doing and don’t make a messy fool out of yourself, you should be able to steer clear of any unwanted run-ins with the cops. Be careful what you do during Grand Prix week, as the cops are extra observant at this time, and taking the time to be a little more cautious about your conduct is worlds better than getting slapped with a hefty fine for public intoxication.

Although students might gripe about the seemingly overwhelming presence of the Purdue Police, you do have to admit, they’re just doing their jobs. The police aren’t kidding around, either. When it comes to underage drinking, it's two strikes and you’re out, and there is absolutely no tolerance when it comes to drugs. But if you exercise some caution, you should be able to avoid any ugly incidents.

Policies Are Changing

Police are changing the law about public intoxication allowing for people to get home without being arrested as long as they aren't being a disruption or endangering themselves or others. They are serious about drinking in the dorms though, you will have to attend classes if you are caught.

Purdue Strictness

I would not say taht it is that strict but you better not do anything stupid. The school policy of academics such as required to have at least a 1.5 starting 1st semester of college then it going up a .1 each semester is a good indicator. Since Purdue is a top 16 hard school to get an A, you better get your A's now because once Junior year is here, the C grade will be the new A

Strict About Drugs and Alcohol

Students are more likely to get caught for this. When students get caught in the dorms or are under age, they are punished severely.
