I am an A/V Supervisor at the QU Technology Center and I say, "GET A MAC! GET A MAC!" And buy it through the school! :)

Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

In recent years, Quinnipiac has made a lot of effort regarding student feedback on computers. Previously, a student was encouraged to buy a Quinnipiac computer through Dell. The computer was a fully-equipped Dell Latitude D360 with a four-year warranty. Quinnipiac's Computer Help Desk used to only support this computer. If a student was having an issue, he or she could bring it to the Help Desk for repair. If the fix took longer than a couple of minutes, the student was issued a loaner computer.

Many students began to complain that their Dells were not lasting and that they disapproved of the Help Desk only providing service to students with Dells. In 2011, Quinnipiac made the decision to start supporting Apple's Macbook computers. This change made students very happy, as seemingly most of the population owned one. All in all, the Help Desk has great hours for students coming in with technical problems, from 8 a.m. to 11 p.m. "E-stars" are the trained students who work at the Help Desk and repair issues ranging from broken speakers to damaged motherboards.
