The transportation at Quinnipiac University has come a long way in recent years. Quinnipiac puts a lot of money into getting its students where they need to go. The current opinions on transportation vary for students, depending on age. A freshman cannot have a car on campus, so Quinnipiac provides these students with shuttle services. There are two shuttles: one for the local town of Hamden (about 10 minutes away) and one for the downtown area of New Haven (about 20 minutes away). The shuttles usually run every 50 minutes. On weekdays, they start at 12 p.m. and go until 12 a.m.; on weekends, the shuttles again start at 12 p.m. but go until 3 a.m. The Hamden shuttle makes various stops at grocery stores and clothing stores. The New Haven shuttle makes stops at places near clubs or bars and Union Station, which is the train station students use to get home or to New York City. Around holidays, Quinnipiac will run express shuttle services to the train station at a more frequent rate.

Quinnipiac also provides local shuttles that make stops at the satellite York Hill campus (about five minutes away), University-owned apartment complexes, and sophomore parking lots. These shuttles are supposed to arrive every 20 minutes. Sophomores are allowed to have cars on campus, but they must park them in lots that are off campus. These lots are not within walking distance and are only accessible by a shuttle. Many sophomores find it quite annoying and tiresome to have to stand and wait for a shuttle for 20 minutes just to get to their car. Juniors typically live on the satellite campus about five minutes away. They are allowed to park in the parking garage next to the building. Many complain that it is a very far, windy walk to the garage, as the campus sits atop a giant hill. In the winter, the walk is very cold.
