Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

Radford dorms are on the older side, but are very well maintained. Seven of the 15 dormitories have been upgraded within the last decade and allow students to control their own heating and air conditioning on a room-by-room basis. The dorms are all suite-style, with two rooms sharing a bathroom. Most rooms only have two people to a room, but when three is required due to overcrowding, the triple rooms are much larger, and students get their own bathroom. The school provides many room essentials and has several programs that allow students to rent items such as refrigerators and microwaves for a reasonable price. Also, each dorm has a housekeeper who maintains all of the common areas, hallways, stairs, and elevators. All dorms are smoke-free, but offer smoking areas 25 feet away from each building. Lastly, all dorms are conveniently located within walking distance from all classes.

Every dorm has a Residence Hall Council that helps students get involved in on-campus activities and bond through programs and dorm activities such as movie nights or midnight breakfasts. Themed living is available in several of the dorms, and Muse has several single-sex floors. While dorm living is vital to creating bonds with fellow students, especially during the first year of college, it does have its drawbacks. Dorms are not soundproof, and students often complain about a noisy neighbor or floor. Also, dorms are required to do monthly fire drills that range from drills in the daytime to the early hours of the morning, and if a student happens to live in Muse, a fire drill can be an extremely long event. Also, on many occasions, police and emergency services will make appearances to deal with alcohol poisoning or drug violations.

Campus Live

Living on campus a Radford University is very convenient to getting anywhere on campus, which only take about 10. The dorms are pretty nice, but all of them do not have air conditioning. The campus has a fairly friendly atmosphere.

Pretty Good

The dorms are a good size especially when compared to other colleges nearby. Also you only have to share bathrooms with 3 people not the whole hall nad some dorms you only have to share with your roommate. Radford is a dry campus so if you want to find a party you will have to go off campus unless you want to get written up, but if you dont then your not alone becasue despite what everyone says Radford isnt COMPLETELY full of partiers. The atmosphere is nice at the beggining of the year everybody is really nice so its best to try and make friends then,

The parking is across the street and then across the bridge for residential students which is very inconvenient. Getting in a dorm isnt that hard becuase you usually get the one you want with the roommate u want but not always.
