Student Author OverviewWhat's This?

There are many options available to students who want to eat off campus, from chain restaurants to privately-owned, intimate dining experiences. The different styles and types of food off campus suit almost every taste. There are also several options of every variety of food, with prices and quality being very good.

While there are many old standbys, such as Macado's and Sonic, new restaurants are constantly springing up in Radford. Sal’s Italian Restaurant and Pizza has been a favorite for students to take a date and has been voted the No. 1 Italian restaurant in the New River Valley. Most restaurants in the area are within walking distance from campus, usually less than a mile. Others, such as Sonic, Sal’s, and Hank's, are a bit further, but easily accessible if you have time for a long walk, a bike ride, or a quick car trip. Prices are very reasonable, and often a student can spend less then $10 on a very satisfying meal.

Down Town

Downtown Radford has many restaurants for students to enjoy the night life. Downtown offers small sandwich places like Cafe 24 to many clubs, however some of the clubs you have to be 21. However during the day the clubs has good food for lunches or early dinners. We also have the best ice cream called BTo's. It is to die for!

Radford Has a Great Array of Off-Campus Dining

Radford University is set up around a small town of a few thousand residents. Within walking distance of the campus there's a strip with boutiques and multiple local and big name pizza and fast food places targeted for students at very reasonable and even cheap prices. There's a frozen yogurt shop that everyone here loves, sandwich shops, smoothie places, and more. Food is easy to get a a great price.
