Parking is severely lacking on campus, especially for commuter students—the number of available spots for them is nowhere near the number of commuters. Plus, they must share all of their lots with faculty. Commuter lots are often filled very quickly in the morning, and students often have to hunt for a spot in one of the lots available to them, while many faculty lots are often only half full. Resident students have the unfortunate luck of having to park close to a mile from campus in one of the resident lots. Residents cannot park anywhere in a commuter or faculty lot until after 6 p.m. Residents must also be wary of parking in Lot Z, as it has been known to flood, and the University does not pay for damages to personal items.

Radford Parking Services is very strict about enforcing parking policies. There are meter maids and a patrol that circles all lots several times a day. Tickets are given quickly and often, and ticket appeals are very rarely granted. The Radford City Police control the side streets, and they are also very aggressive about ticketing. Appeals involve attending court and are almost impossible to win. However, parking permits are easy to obtain for students for a very affordable price.
