Far Away

If you live on campus or commute, you have to park across the bridge, which can be a bit of a hassle, but the bus system takes you right to the parking lots. Its along the river so you do have to be careful with flooding when it rains a lot in the fall or spring, but they will let you know if you need to move your car.

Hat Trick Weather

When its closer to the start of fall semester and the end of spring semester, the weather is beautiful. not too hot or cold. the problem is that the weather changes at the drop of a dime any other time. I have literally been out on a bright, warm, sunny day for it to snow later on that night. word of advice, " NEVER TAKE YOUR WINTER CLOTHES HOME FOR SPRING" This caused problems for too many of my friends... especially at night. so as long as you keep a jacket ready, the weather is nice.

Parking at a Cost

There is a lot of parking at Radford, but the spots close to campus tend to fill pretty fast. Also the open spots tend to be very far away from campus. For future references they are about to build some buildings on parking lots, so if you plan to go you should wait until junior year to bring your car. The good thing is parking is in fact free.

I Love My School

When I was first looking at Radford, I was a little weary because it is pretty far from my home town. But once I finally got here, I automatically fell in love. So many people associate this school with partying but what they don't know is that we have amazing Academic Programs. They hire top notch teachers, who genuinely want you to do well. It also doesn't hurt that our campus is absolutely beautiful.

Living on a Mountain

Since Radford is on a Mountain we do see our fair share of snow. But since out classes are so close in proximity to the dorms it really doesn't make getting to class that difficult or dangerous. Also the campus administrators understand that going out in 4 feet of snow can be difficult and dangerous so sometimes they will delay classes for our safety.

Drinking Is the More Popular Choice

At Radford you don't see alot of the drinking or drug activity, a lot of it is kept under control and off campus. Radford doesn't have that big of a party scene but with the campus being surrounded by upper class men housing it allows lots of drinking and drug activity. The police force here is fantastic though and genuinely care about your safety and well being.

Great Support in Sports Medicine

I love my major and I am so happy that I chose it. It is difficult and it does require many challenging classes, but the faculty and professors are very supportive and personal. This program gives me everything that I need for physical therapy school. I have no concerns with getting into physical therapy school someday

Terrible Parking

The parking situation is awful. It is hard to get a spot, and the parking lots are so far away from campus. You have to cross over a bridge to get back. There is a bus system that goes from the lots back to campus, but it can be difficult to find the bus stops in the dark.

Food Options

There are 3 main food courts, Dalton, Muse, and The Bonnie. In Dalton you can find Au Bon Pain, Wendy's, Papa John's, Sushi, and the cafeteria. While in The Bonnie you can find, Salsarita's, Pinkberry,Starbucks, Chicfila, and a salad place. Muse has a buffet during lunch and fine dinning for dinner. The school offers a pretty wide variety of choices for food.

Variable

The thing about the academics at Radford is that it is definitely easy to get in, but it is difficult for some individuals to remain at Radford. People get too into the party scene and don't go to class nor try at class. The difficulty of class varies wildly because of the instructor. Some classes are relatively easy (that is, general ed classes) and as one gets into higher level courses things will get more difficult. Just like at any other school, there will be classes that excite students, bore them, make them want to claw their eyeballs out, inspire them, or really anything. It really depends on the individual student's perception, motivation, brightness, and desire to learn. Academics are also dependent on the instructors. I've had instructors that have really inspired me and helped in my success. Also, depending on your field of study, your job opportunities can be very broad, or very narrow. It all is pretty much individual thing.

Ok

For on campus u dont need any transportation, and they dont provide any because it only takes ten minutes to walk from the far side of campus to the other side. the buses, although i hear theyre not always on time and stop at like 9 30 and hardly even run on the weekends, they do take u across the bridge and to walmart about 10 minutes down the street. The bus is also free

Pretty Good

The dorms are a good size especially when compared to other colleges nearby. Also you only have to share bathrooms with 3 people not the whole hall nad some dorms you only have to share with your roommate. Radford is a dry campus so if you want to find a party you will have to go off campus unless you want to get written up, but if you dont then your not alone becasue despite what everyone says Radford isnt COMPLETELY full of partiers. The atmosphere is nice at the beggining of the year everybody is really nice so its best to try and make friends then,

The parking is across the street and then across the bridge for residential students which is very inconvenient. Getting in a dorm isnt that hard becuase you usually get the one you want with the roommate u want but not always.

Totally Safe

I feel really safe on campus, even after dark. It is a small, quiet town with plenty of police available on campus.

I love Radford!

I love Radford! At this point, I can’t see myself going anywhere else. Whenever I visit my friends at other schools, I can’t help but think that I have it better at Radford. As cliche’ as it may sound, everyone is pretty nice and outgoing and fun to be around and the professors are overall really great, as well. I came to Radford because of it’s amazing Theatre Department and the more I’m here, the more I realize that there are so many pro’s to being here. If you’re an outgoing and excited student, then you’re going to love what Radford has to offer you!

The best college parties I've been to

The parties are definitely the best college parties I’ve been to compared to other colleges in Virginia.

The guys are cool

The guys are cool, and the girls are for the most part attractive however they do have a reputation for being easy, and tend to put on the weight after a few years of constant alcohol intake.

The dining halls have improved

The dining halls have improved since my freshman year on campus. The first year I attended Radford, we did not have many of the places that are available now. We now have “chain” restaurants like Chik-Fil-A and Wendy’s. The main dining hall, Dalton, could use some room for improvement. The food there is not the best.

Something Other Than Fast Food

There are many fast food places on campus, but as a student who does not eat fast food it is hard to find varity in what I have to eat.

Ru Ready for Theatre

radford theatre students are successful after graduating in getting a job in the theatre workplace. they are highly respected at conferences and conventions throughout the usa. their work is superior to other schools, especially in VA.

Above average resident halls

The campus housing is actually pretty good. Generally speaking, the rooms are much larger than average dorm rooms. The bathrooms are also all suite-style, which is much more convenient and sanitary than traditional hall bathrooms. Radford is also constantly renovating its residence halls.

Average Everyday Students

At my school you'll find a variety of different students. Most are laid-back, average students. We also do have a lot of skateboarders.

The campus is fairly diverse

The campus is fairly diverse, although there are probably more women than men, but not by much. Most of the students are also white, but there are a number of African Americans, Asian Americans and other minorities as well. Most of the students are from Virginia.

Dining facilities are starting to really impress me

With the new addition of Wendy’s and Salsarita’s, I can say that our dining facilities are starting to really impress me. Before, we only had the dining halls, SBarro’s (which is a greasy pizza spot), Mean Genes’s (which was a greasy burger spot) and Chik- Fil-A (which is delicious, but not when you eat it every day). The new additions give me faith in my ability to have a varied food selection.

You can find a party most every night

The parties here are unlike most anywhere else. You can find a party, most every night, whether you choose to go or not. The Greek social life is always active, and anyone can find a party that suits them. There are many types, from casual small groupings to large outrageous parties.
