The weather in Radford is extremely unpredictable. At the start of the day, it might be in the 60s, with a cloudless sky and light breeze, but by 2 p.m., it can be freezing cold and windy with a possibility of snow. It is not uncommon to have several extremely hot days in the middle of November, where shorts and T-shirts are required, or freezing cold days well into the middle of April. One day, it might be a sunny day of 90 degrees without a single cloud in the sky. The next day, it is windy, cold, raining, and below freezing.

One consistent item in Radford’s array of weather is rain. When it rains, it is usually for an extended period of time, which collects on the campus quads and pathways, so rain boots and umbrellas are highly recommended. Wind is also a common occurrence. A windproof and waterproof jacket is ideal, especially during the cold winter months. Students suggest bringing a wide variety of clothing since the weather can change by the hour. Layering is a student’s best option, especially in the fall and spring when the weather is at its most variant.

Constantly changing, it can honestly go through the motions of at least 2 different seasons every single day! It might be sunny and beautiful one minute then your caught in a cold downpour the next.

The weather here is almost always sunny. If it does rain, it's not that big of a deal because the campus is so small it does not take long to get from one place to another.

Hat Trick Weather

When its closer to the start of fall semester and the end of spring semester, the weather is beautiful. not too hot or cold. the problem is that the weather changes at the drop of a dime any other time. I have literally been out on a bright, warm, sunny day for it to snow later on that night. word of advice, " NEVER TAKE YOUR WINTER CLOTHES HOME FOR SPRING" This caused problems for too many of my friends... especially at night. so as long as you keep a jacket ready, the weather is nice.
