Ramapo generally does a good job of setting people up with roommates, as long as each person has an open mind and is willing to be friendly with different types of people. However, no two students are likely to have the same experience at Ramapo, and a negative side of the people on campus is dealing with the administrative offices, many of which look at students as an obstacle involved with their job. In order to get things accomplished, students must constantly nag, with unyielding tenacity. Like the administrative people, even student workers in the offices seem required to be surly and uninformed about important matters.

The classes were interesting and necessary, with a few exceptions. While it's important to get a well-rounded education, many students grow tired of the general education requirements after a while. However, once they get into courses within their major, students' interests in the education aspect of the College increase significantly. The professors at Ramapo are available for conferences, extra time, and help, in addition to scheduled class time; they value education on the subject you paid for rather than teaching you harsh lessons about the uncaring bureaucracy of life. Many will go the extra mile to ensure that you do better than you may have initially thought you would do. Sometimes this means the difference between passing and failing a course, or just a simple matter of saving some precious points on your GPA.
