What I love most about Rasmussen is that there is absolutely NO WAIT LIST for the RN program. Everywhere else you go there are 3+ years of a wait list.

I have not really been on campus using the computers a lot. But when I have it was reasonable to be expected. The only downfall is for the online class my mac apparently doesn't have the correct system to support this class.

I am a new student here and have not explored these options, however I know there is an office on campus that will help you land a job in your career field after graduation.

Nursing program managers are fantastic! They call me on a semi-regular basis just to check up on me and how things are going! No other colleges i've attended have been so helpful and considerate about how things are really going.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I wouldnt have any complaints except when I had to take a couple of months off and when I came back Rasmussen said that the Bachelor program changed and some of my classes didn't count so many had to be taken over and now im short and wont have enough financial aid. I am so upset that I wasn't told about this so called program change befoe.

I choose the school because at the time they did not have a waiting list for the career I wanted. However, as the school has gotten bigger, there is less "face to face" with members of the school. There are a lot of the classes that are not taught on campus, such as digital design, and thus the student is self taught. If a student goes to the school with a problem, it really does not seem to matter to them, the answer is there are tutors. However, many times the tutors that are available do not match up with eveyone's schedules. A student is expected to know the basics of computers as if everyone has been doing them since they were little, which is not the case.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
I have one class left before completing my degree. Three weeks into the class financial aid still has not come through. When I spoke with the financial aid adviser, I was told that it would take too long to review my financial aid and reprocess the application. She suggested I pay the full amount out of my own pocket. when I told her I had lost my job due to downsizing, she pretty much stated that was not her problem and again, refused to help me come to a resolution. The only thing that needed to be done was to have my financial aid reviewed to get more funds for the one class. She refused to put in the request to have that done.
Tuition is very expensive through this school to begin with, now living on unemployment there is no way I can pay for this very last class I need to complete my degree.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Understanding the Whole Deal – Before meeting with financial aid you will meet with your academic advising team so once your go into Financial Aid you can see and understand how your finances are being applied. The facility really breaks down everything and shows you details of where the money goes. Some people feel the amount of money spent per credit hour is expensive but I see it differently. I see that each and every student is getting their money worth and financial aid also shows you other opportunities to earn money to pay for your education.

Hard Working – Students who apply to Rasmussen College are hard working and very motivated to succeed. Rasmussen College is represented by different cultures, political groups, religious groups and there are both men and women attending. Every student seems to be hard working and wanting more out of life. Having a great amount of diversity at Rasmussen College has a positive reward to all students; student's get the opportunity to understand different views and find new ways of learning.

I feel the Nursing program is unique in the core classes and the Gen Eds can be taken together

I feel the support of the Rasmussen faculty is superior to other schools of the same acedemic offerings.

Rasmussen College – The ability to arrange your class schedule to your work schedule is the main reason I chose this school. They make it easy to continue working while earning your degree

Computer Network at School – We have acouple computer labs, there is one computer lab with just Mac computers and the rest have Windows computers. They have Wireless network availability and a library full of computers you can use at anytime. You can actually use a computer in any class or lab at anytime. There speed is slow but not usually.

Academics at My School – I wish the on campus professors would be more caring for your out of school life. I also think they should not let you just relax, but if you have a busy life outside of school they should respect it. They also offer tutoring and work study where you could work in the school library to earn Financial Aid.

My Experience So Far – I have had a great experience overall at my school. I don't have anything that is my favorite or would do again though.

No Credit Transfers – I wish we could transfer credits if we needed to. If I were to one day move away from my school I would be unhappy because I'd have to move closer to another campus. It would make it much easier if there were more of their schools around the United States though.

Online classes are very convenient for me, because it allows me to work at my own pace and I don't have the expense of driving a half hour one way to and from school. The students interact with each other with weekly posts. The workload is about the same as on campus. The instructors are only an email away and respond back very quickly, usually the same day.

Hands on Learning – Being in the Technology field you learn a lot by hands on learning. Rasmussen allows this by having several computer labs and an actual server that students can do projects with. Rasmussen also allows each student to build their own computer in it hardware class. This opportunity was very beneficial to my learning experience.

Small Class Sizes – At Rasmussen you are known by name not just a number. The class sizes are very small which allows instructors one on one learning. Rasmussen also offers very flexible schedules for the adult student.

Flexibility of Classes – The Academic Advisors at Rasmussen are extremely good at their job. They signed me up for a class for my next quarter and called me ahead of time to make sure it was okay with me. One of the classes was a class that I might be able to test-out of, so she switched it to a different one for me while on the phone. It was very easy and very flexible.

Tuition & Financial Aid:
Tuition and Aid – Rasmussen is pretty expensive, but my financial aid officer got me the Federal aid and loans that I needed. They worked very fast and everything was ready by the time I started school. It was very convenient and no hassle to me.

Great Atmosphere and People – At rasmussen the atmosphere is just awesome. Everyone is optimistic and the staff is active in your college career to make sure you do well. The biggest part is that they're not just faking it, they actually really WANT you to succeed. I have no problem asking questions and 99% of the time I get an answer. They also have a Department that helps you find a survival job while you're in college. I wouldn't want to go to any other college besides Rasmussen.

Pajama Day EVERY Day! People pass judgement without actually realizing it on a daily basis. One of the main things on which we judge is appearance, unfortunate as that is. With an online class, we can hold discussions without being distracted by someone as simple as what the other student is wearing.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
