They are pretty fun. Whenever I can get to a RIC basketball game they always play really hard and it is fun having that constant feeling of passion for the sport.

Pros are that the school is small so everything is just minutes away from each other. Cons is that the school has through traffic so people that do not go to school make traffic because they want to cut across campus.

RIC's Dinning center has very limited options to what you can eat as far as stations. They only offer a salad bar, grill, sandwich/wraps and daily entry food. which I believe is very limited. Food is extremely expensive with not good value.

I would say that Drug scene is very visible when it comes to Marijuana. A lot of people are smoking Marijuana and Campus police is not called when smell is obvious.

To be able to find parking be ready to come in 30 minutes to an hour before class. It is impossible to get parking near class if your running late. The good thing is rhat parking is free.

The food is very bad quality. Mostly everything is fried. Some of the food such as burgers are not always cooked. The dining hall is a good size and is always clean.

College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:59:28Z
I honestly havent seen anything like it happening on RIC i would say we are a Drugs and alcohol free school. everyone follow the policies
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:57:43Z
food is good. a lot of variety and options
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:57:01Z
it does not affect it at all.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:55:56Z
it's ok. just be a few minutes early before your classes in order to find a spot
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:54:50Z
at first i did not want to be on RIC but now i'm very happy. it's small class rooms and one-to-one interactions with professors and classmates make my academic experience the best! what makes my school unique is its diversity and how well everyone just fits in. everyone is friends with each other not matter where you come from or who you were in high school.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:52:15Z
living on campus is the best! you get to meet new people and actually interact with them. i have lived in Browne Hall for two years now and i still love it, even though it is an all girl hall. everyone is friendly and respectful.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:50:05Z
computers at RIC are okay and available for all students. there is plenty of them on campus. printing on campus and the network reliability and wireless access are good as well.
College Sophomore 2013-11-09T23:47:24Z
everything is alright. sometimes i wish RIC was more lively but hey! it's a good school anyway :)

Typical New England weather, it is hot in the summer and cold during the winter.

Rhode Island College is a dry campus so drugs and alcohol are rarely seen. However when we do have events, such as big concerts or dances, there are people that do bring alcohol and drugs.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:47:46Z
They do offer good financial aid at RIC, especially if your a resident of Rhode Island, unfortunately it sometimes takes a while for your financial aid to get processed into your account.
College Sophomore 2013-11-06T21:41:26Z
The parking at Rhode Island College is horrible, if you want to find a parking spot you have to come relatively early in the morning.

Guys & Girls:
Since College Prowler does not let you edit a review, this was what I wanted to add at the end of my earlier review...Perhaps my review is a bit harsh, but that has been my general experience so far. If anything changes I will leave a new review.
Recent Alumnus 2013-11-03T18:30:45Z
This might be a long review...I will start by saying the outdoor landscaping is nice, but that is about it. But the
facilities at this school need to be renovated. The design of the buildings are very generic looking when compared to other public colleges. The design of the buildings remind me of a grade school, not a college.
Very old buildings, there has been construction on a new art building for over a year now, which has yet to be finished. So many of the art classes are still in different buildings, some in the basement level. The wood paneling in the hall ways in some of these buildings are enough to show you the last time there was any renovation done.
The library is always warm, and has a foul smell. Was told that they have not hired a full time custodian in 10 years, so they must have several part time custodians, that might be why.
The desks in the rooms do not match, some are very old (probably donated from Mt.Pleasant High School), the same for the furniture in some of the rooms. When I say old, I mean at least 50 years or more. The couch in the English Depratment is also very dirty.
The air ventilation in the classrooms seems very stale,
they could use a ventilation system to let in more air. The classrooms on this campus are smaller than the rooms at the CCRI main campus.
Outdoors they have a big square area of cement where people walking seem like they are in a daze going to their building for their class. They try to make it more lively by adding benches, which are facing the people walking so you will see many of the students sitting there just staring at the students walking to their building.
The cafeteria area has two floors. The first floor seems like a big dining room with many circular tables, which is nice. Upstairs is a bit different though, there are tables that seem
like they were added at a much later time, since offices are located all around them, gives a bit of a feeling like you are not wanted there...simply because there are people trying to work in their offices on that floor.
So the campus itself does need some renovation and improvements. When comparing public colleges in the nearby area both URI and UMass have nicer facilities.

Guys & Girls:
Not sure what it is about this campus, but it seems like everybody is distant and guarded in some way. When I was at CCRI it was much easier to make friends. At RIC people seem miserable or emotionally cold. Have been here over a year and nothing has changed. Nobody really talks to one another before the professor comes into class, and if you do ask another student a question, they will give you a one or two word response and the conversation ends. So there is that first day awkward silence, everyday! I can give several examples but that would just take too long. I am not sure if many of the reviews on here are actually real, or perhaps students that do give these reviews have never attended any other college, or already knew their friends from a previous school, so they think this behavior is normal, but it is not. Long story short... it almost seems like nobody wants to make any new friends.
College Sophomore 2013-10-22T01:04:30Z
There are many opportunities for internships and volunteering. The campus has many students that undergo research and are starting to get recognition. There are a wide of speakers from the state that come to the college and many trips are planned to enhance the student life on campus an make it fun.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
