Dorms are very strict as to who can be in them. Students living off campus can't go in unless a resident student unlocks the door for them.

RIC is a dry campus and the RAs really enforce it! Even if your over 21. Providence has a good nightlife scene, just plan to stay off campus until you sober up.

Rhode Island College is a dry campus, so the RA's are very strict about there being no alcohol or drugs. This is enforced, even when you are 21 years old. The consequences are serious, too. You will receive a fine, have to complete an online alcohol awareness course and could possibly get kicked out of your dorm. On one hand, this is a good policy, because it ensures students are focusing on their classes and not parties. On the other hand, students who are 21 or older cannot drink, even though legally they are allowed to.

I've only heard stories about getting in trouble because of underage drinking or drugs. My time on campus i haven't dealt with the campus police but i did see them stop someone because they had a light out on their car but didn't give them a ticket, just made sure they were safe.

The campus police are there to make sure things run smoothly. They are forceful when it comes to underage drinking and helpful when it comes to issues pertaining where to go and what to do if a situation occurs. They can not take the same precautions as the town police, but direct you to them if they feel the situation calls for it.
