This might be a long review...I will start by saying the outdoor landscaping is nice, but that is about it. But the
facilities at this school need to be renovated. The design of the buildings are very generic looking when compared to other public colleges. The design of the buildings remind me of a grade school, not a college.
Very old buildings, there has been construction on a new art building for over a year now, which has yet to be finished. So many of the art classes are still in different buildings, some in the basement level. The wood paneling in the hall ways in some of these buildings are enough to show you the last time there was any renovation done.
The library is always warm, and has a foul smell. Was told that they have not hired a full time custodian in 10 years, so they must have several part time custodians, that might be why.
The desks in the rooms do not match, some are very old (probably donated from Mt.Pleasant High School), the same for the furniture in some of the rooms. When I say old, I mean at least 50 years or more. The couch in the English Depratment is also very dirty.
The air ventilation in the classrooms seems very stale,
they could use a ventilation system to let in more air. The classrooms on this campus are smaller than the rooms at the CCRI main campus.
Outdoors they have a big square area of cement where people walking seem like they are in a daze going to their building for their class. They try to make it more lively by adding benches, which are facing the people walking so you will see many of the students sitting there just staring at the students walking to their building.
The cafeteria area has two floors. The first floor seems like a big dining room with many circular tables, which is nice. Upstairs is a bit different though, there are tables that seem
like they were added at a much later time, since offices are located all around them, gives a bit of a feeling like you are not wanted there...simply because there are people trying to work in their offices on that floor.
So the campus itself does need some renovation and improvements. When comparing public colleges in the nearby area both URI and UMass have nicer facilities.

There are many opportunities for internships and volunteering. The campus has many students that undergo research and are starting to get recognition. There are a wide of speakers from the state that come to the college and many trips are planned to enhance the student life on campus an make it fun.

It is mostly a commuter school so every Friday the campus is usually empty (everyone goes home if they live in the state). There are events on campus but you really need to dig deep to find them. As for facilities our recreation center was remodeled in the past year to state of the art. Its very nice and we also have a new art building. While the preexisting buildings aren't that bad but they could use some renovations here & there.

I love the gym and the library! I could spend hours at the library without a problem. I love going to the gym late at night, just because there isn't as many people and also because I get to relax for an hour and a half before going to bed.
Sorry, there are no reviews.
