Beautiful City, Even Better Food.

Providence is an amazing city architecturally. Every building is unique especially in the area around RISD. Most students hang out on Thayer st. It is close and is lined with interesting clothing, craft and book shops. Oh and it is home to some of the best food you will ever eat. Nice slice pizza , all the sushi you could ever want/ need, bubble tea, burgers, crazy good ice cream and frozen yogurt. It is located in the middle of the Brown campus too so the few times you do interact with your non art student counterparts, is usually here. This is all , of corse , depending on the fact that you have somehow scrubbed your self clean of charcoal and peeled yourself off the floor of the studio. And if not (which is most likely) most places deliver, so before classes start go around the city and collect menus!

A Buffet to Big for a Glutton

Nearby the RISD Campus is Thayer street, the nightlife and restaurant area for college students, and those traveling to Rhode Island for leisure.

There the food choices range from Mexican, Indian, Japanese, Chinese, Vegetarian and many more, giving anyone the option to eat almost anything for a college student, friendly cost.

Really Great.

You get free access to RIPTA buses, which can take you anywhere in providence for free, including Newport Beaches on weekend. It's really useful and the bus system is huge. Totally free with your student ID. Also, train and bus stations are very close to campus. I can get to Boston for 7 dollars, and New York for about 20. The bus to the airport is free as well.
