Clubs and Organizations on Campus
Most, if not all, students are involved in several clubs or organizations. If volunteer work is what you love, Rhodes is a gold mine. There are various groups geared toward service—which makes sense, since Rhodes was named "Most Service-Minded School" in fall 2010 by Newsweek. There are also many other types of active clubs and organizations, such as mock trial, varsity and intramural sports, Gay Straight Alliance, College Democrats and College Republicans, Black Student Association (BSA), Contents Under Pressure (an improv group), "Lipstick on Your Collar" and "Woolsocks" (the women and men's a capella groups), Rhodes Radio, the Sou'wester (student newspaper), Rhodes Christian Fellowship (RCF), Muslim Student Association, GlobeMed, S.I.G.N. (sign language), student government, the Peer Advocate Center, and much more. If Rhodes doesn't already have a club you're interested in, get a few friends and start up one yourself! Though it might seem intimidating, it really isn't too difficult to do.
