Facts

Interviews & Information Sessions

Information sessions are available every weekday at 2 p.m. From April through December, an information session is also available at 10 a.m. Personal interviews are not required, but high school seniors wishing to interview on campus should contact the Admissions Office, allowing two weeks notice for scheduling an interview. For more information regarding on-campus and off-campus interviews, call (713) 348-2910, or visit http://www.futureowls.rice.edu/futureowls/Interviews.asp?SnID=939139482.

Campus Tours

Student-led tours of the campus are available year-round at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Admissions Office is closed during most major holidays. For more information, call (713) 348-2910 or email admi@rice.edu.

Overnight Visits

Rice offers interested students the opportunity to spend the night on campus in a residential college with a student host. In the fall, overnight visits will be available from mid-September through late November. In the spring, overnight visits will be available from late January through mid-April. The Admissions Office requires two weeks notice for scheduling overnight visits. If you are admitted to Rice, you should attend Owl Days in April. Hundreds of prospective students (called prospies) descend on Houston to have, arguably, the best weekend of their lives. Often, by the end of Owl Days, prospies don't want to leave. Owl Days is Rice's best attempt to convince admitted students to attend, so you're sure to have a great time, get a feel for the University, and be able to make an informed choice regarding your college decision.

Prospective Weekend

Owl Days -- If admitted to Rice University, you will be invited to attend Vision Week (for minority students) and/or Owl Days. You will have the opportunity to stay with current Rice students for two days and nights in a residential college, attend classes, meet professors, learn about Rice social life and extracurricular organizations, and acquaint yourself with all that Rice has to offer.

Did You Know? Rice's entire campus is a registered arboretum. The wooded campus is full of beautiful and stately live oaks. The campus attracts weddings, conventions, and other special events each year. There are often photographers near Lovett Hall in the Academic Quad taking prom, wedding, and quinceaƱera pictures.
