Worst Things

  1. The humidity during the summer is nearly 100 percent, so get ready to shower often.
  2. Students are often focused on their future careers than engaging in the moment.
  3. Texas is big on cars, and Houston's public transportation is underdeveloped. As a result, parking at Rice is very limited, and the parking enforcement is notoriously strict.
  4. Each college throws similar parties every year. Although this isn't a problem for some, others may find the social scene repetitive.
  5. Professors are demanding, and it's often difficult to achieve A's without having to pull all-nighters on a regular basis.
  6. Sometimes, you can get stuck in only the social scene of your residential college.
  7. Dating can be either long-term relationships or hookups; there's not much in the middle.
  8. Interest in varsity sports is lacking.
  9. To host a party, you have to register with your college's chief justice.
  10. Lots of awkward people

Parking Nightmare

Parking on campus is expensive and far from the dorms. Traffic officers are extremely trigger happy when issuing tickets.
