Overall ExperienceWhat's This?

Rider University has a lot going for it. It is a small school, which can offer a personal college experience to students. The class sizes are small, so you will get to know the professors and your voice will be heard. The professors are generally more than willing to help students if they need additional help with their academics or even if they’re having a non-academic problem. The advisers here are extremely helpful, as well—they offer great assistance when scheduling your classes and are there to help you find your way after Rider.

A small student body means everyone pretty much recognizes every face on campus. This can provide a sense of comfort, but some people say this leads to a lack of privacy because everyone knows everyone else’s business. But, there is a bunch of nearby towns if you want to escape campus for awhile. Rider is also a very safe place because the University does all it can to keep students safe on campus.

Something for Everyone

The clubs around Rider are for 21 and over but there is a pub on campus that is open every Friday, 18 to enter 21 to drink. Many students that live off campus throw house parties. These are fun to go to and Rider offers 3 free rides with a local taxi company from any location to campus. They call this safe ride to make sure students don't drink and drive.

Take a Ride

Rider University offers a shuttle bus that runs everyday to Princeton. On weekends it takes students to the mall, movies and shopping centers. There is also public transportation right in front of Rider. The bus can take you to the nearest towns and hotspots. Rider University also offers a student discount on bus passes. It is so convenient.

Pretty but Annoying

Rider's student center is very nice inside, and has a decent selection. That being said, it's the only up to date and nice thing on campus for students to use. The library has a lot of computers, but a printer system that breaks constantly, and it is fairly neutral inside. The gyms have way too much money thrown at them, and still have problems yearly from the flooding on campus. The classrooms are in various states of not great, and the BLC is completely outdated and confusing to be in.
